I'm feeling good right now. I slept quite a bit yesterday, so I didn't feel like I was dragging today (except when I first got up, of course). I've felt the little one a few times today, but he's been kind of sporadic with his movements lately. I can definitely tell he's getting bigger and stronger though. When he does kick me, I can feel it much more. I'm also feeling him higher and farther off to the sides than before. That's got to be a sign that he's growing (besides the fact that my belly is, too).
Speaking of feeling good NOW...Yesterday, we ended up leaving during the middle of church because I thought I was gonna pass out. At the beginning of the service, the pastor asked us to stand for the reading of the word. About halfway through his reading, I had to sit down because I felt like I was having trouble breathing. That continued for about 20 minutes. Then all the sudden, I got really hot and I started seeing white spots in front of my eyes - which is a sure sign that I'm about to faint. I quickly told Jared what was going on, so he helped me up and out of the pew. About halfway down the stairs (we were up in the balcony), I had to sit down and put my head between my legs. When we finally got downstairs, I felt a tiny bit better. Jared suggested that I get some water, but when I stood up to do that, I got even MORE light-headed and I really had no doubt that I was about to pass out. I sat back down and tried to calm myself down. I was sweating like crazy and I knew I was freaking out and just making it worse. I finally layed my head down on the stair above where I was sitting and concentrated on taking deep breaths. After a little while I started to feel better. We sat there for about another 5 or 10 minutes to make sure that I was okay and then we decided to just head home, so I could rest. I've been fine since then.
I have absolutely NO idea what brought on that "episode" (as all my family is calling it)! I ate breakfast that morning. I wasn't overly tired. It wasn't too hot or too cold in the church. It just seemed to hit me out of nowhere. This is the first time in my entire pregnancy that I've experienced anything like this. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do I need to be worried that something is wrong, or is it normal to almost faint for no apparent reason? If anybody has any thoughts or comments, I'd appreciate them!
I hope everyone's pregnancy is going well. God Bless!

This is a short one. I just wanted to let everyone know that I added a few pictures to my photo album. There are 2 belly shots and 1 picture of how we're decorating the baby's room. Enjoy!

Scary incident
I am officially halfway through my pregnancy now. Man, how time flies!
On another note, I witnessed a pretty scary incident the day before yesterday. I was on the interstate on my way home from work when a small work truck swerved (I don't know why ) and flipped over about 4 car-lengths in front of me. He rolled 2 or 3 times before landing in the grassy median beside the interstate. I pulled over and called 911. Several other cars stopped and got out to see if the driver was okay. Within about 20 seconds, a Fire & Rescue truck showed up. It had to have been on the interstate behind me, because there was no way they could have responded that quickly. I didn't get out, but I stayed to make sure that everything was alright. After a few minutes, I noticed that the Fire & Rescue people and the others who had stopped to help were all standing around chatting casually, so I assumed that the guy had gotten out of his vehicle okay. Otherwise, I would think that there would have been a bit more urgency in their actions.
Right before I got back on the interstate, I called my husband to let him know what had just happened. Once I started talking to him, absolute panic set in and I started bawling. Of course, I was fine. Miraculously, the truck had swerved across three lanes of after-work traffic, but hadn't hit a single vehicle. It was just really scary to watch. It was like something you see in the movies - completely unreal.
I was kind of "out of it" for the rest of the night. I couldn't get the image of that truck out of my head. All I kept thinking was, "Thank you Lord for keeping me, the baby, and everyone in/near the accident safe." It was a scary end to a work day.

Daddy felt the baby move!
Happy New Year everyone! We've definitely started off on the right foot.
I mentioned before that I've noticed the baby's kicks getting stronger lately. Well, earlier yesterday Jared and I had just left Wal-Mart. When we got in the car, I noticed the baby was kicking so I tried to feel it with my hand. He gave a really BIG kick, which I could definitely feel with my hand. I made Jared put his hand on my belly so he could feel, but of course our little "stinker" didn't want to play anymore.
So, last night, Jared and I were up late (after all the "ringing in the new year" stuff). We were sitting on the couch watching some episodes from our new DVD - House: Season 1 (Excellent show, by the way). I was kind of half sitting/ half laying on my back. I noticed the baby started to kick, so I had Jared put his hand on my belly again. We only waited about 20 seconds and then I felt a good-sized tap, right under Jared's hand. Just as I was about to ask if he'd felt it, his whole face lit up. He looked at me and asked if that had been a kick. When I told him yes, he got all excited and starting laughing and yelling. He got to feel the baby kick 2 more good times after that. It was so exciting for him to finally share the movement!!!
