I am now 36 weeks pregnant.

Worst blogger ever.

So, I really thought I'd be good at this pregnancy blogging thing, but alas, the proof is in the pudding.  It all went downhill after our first scan.  I sat here and typed a hugely long and detailed account of the magical experience of seeing our wee babe - just to lose internet connection as well as all that I had been typing.  I got the rage, and pretty much swore to never return to this site again.  Well, it's been a couple weeks and I've calmed down a bit, so I thought I could at least come and explain my leave of absence.

I'm now 14 weeks (+3 days if you want to be specific) and I'm finally feeling better!  I'm 4 days puke free - and close to my record of 5 (fingers crossed).  I'm sleeping better, less tired, and more energetic.  Yay me.  I had an appointment with my midwife on Friday, and she said everything was smashing.  We tried to hear the heartbeat, but only got little blurps that she said were kicks (but Jake & I later decided that she must have been flicking the doppler with her finger to try and make us feel better).  She doesn't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to fly home in August - phew! and I'll see her again in a couple weeks for some more blood tests.  And then on the 27th of June, I have my next scan, which I'm beyond excited for.  We should be able to find out what it is.  Eeek.  Anyway, you've been somewhat caught up on the life and times of pregger Jessi D.  Hope you're all well, and I'll try to write again soon.

10 Weeks
Just a quick update!  10 weeks already - how did that happen?  I'm coming to the end of my two week vacation, and it seems like the 'morning' sickness is really starting to let up, although my insane sense of smell still turns my stomach on occasion.  And I think I'm a little less tired.  Don't get me wrong, I still need my 8-10 a night, but no naps during the day.    Supposedly by the end of this week, my little jelly baby will have lost it's tail, and will officially become a fetus.  Yay for not looking like a tadpole!  One week from tomorrow is my first scan, and I'm counting the minutes!  How crazy is it that I'm already a quarter of the way through?!?!

Sick : (
I've been sick.  It started almost two weeks ago, but this week has been far worse.     Sometimes I feel sick all night, so I barely sleep.    I wake up, and feel sick.    I go to bed and feel sick .    Luckily, I'm usually all right during the day while I'm at work.    But the rest of the time - Ick.     I really thought I'd have the perfect pregnancy and never feel ill, but that is not the case my friend.  Hopefully it won't last much longer.....

Immune
Well, I got my blood work back, and I am indeed immune to chicken pox.  Phew!  One thing I don't need to worry about, now there's only about a million more to cross off my list, and then I'll be able to sit back and relax.  Not feeling my hottest this week.  Tired, sick, dizzy.  But, conveniently only when I'm home.  When I'm at school, I feel like a million bucks.  But before, and after - crap.    Aw well, I'm tough.  I'll survive.  But the question is, will Jake?
