HE'S HERE!!!! He's here! On August 27th, we welcomed a beautiful healthy baby boy named Brody Michael at 3:49 PM. I woke up at 6:00 AM with very uncomfortable contractions that were coming every 4 minutes and they soon became very painful contractions. My midwife Tonia came over to the house and she and Charlie tried to keep me as comfortable as possible. At 9:30, I had enough and we left for Vanderbilt. As soon as I arrived, I was escorted to the L&D room and given the much anticipated epidural. Tonia then decided to check my progress and to all of our suprise, I had already dilated to a 10! She broke my water at 12:00 and I began pushing... and pushing... and pushing. I pushed for 4 hours! After the third hour, we had to consult the MD on call and he was talking about possibly intervening and Brody did not like the sound of that so he decided to make his grand appearance. He is beautiful and Charlie and I feel very blessed. Thanks for all of the good wishes and prayers throughout my pregnancy. Charlie and I have a perfect son as a result.
