You were born on:
June 29, 2007
| |
You weighed:
8lbs 3oz
| |
And your length was:
20-1/2"
| |
After much thought, you were named:
Gunner Avery
| |
The first thing I thought when I saw you was:
He's like a little stranger.
| |
The hardest part of the delivery experience was:
The horribly bumpy ambulance ride that made me tense-up and increased the pain. That, and giving birth in a hospital. It wasn't very supportive and I felt alone.
| |
The easiest part of the delivery experience was:
The labor was only 6 1/2 hours. Once they turned down the epidural, I pushed you right out in about 3 pushes. You just FLEW out.
| |
What surprised me most about the delivery experience was:
I asked for the epidural after all, but when it came time to push, I hated feeling frozen and stoned and wanted them to turn it off.
| |
This is what happened the day you were born:
You were all full of meconium so they put you on my chest for a moment or two, then the put you in a warmer and suctioned you out with saline and then they took you off to the NICU for a few hours.
| |
The big world events of the day were:
Who the hell knows. Besides the war, obviously. All I had on my mind was, 'When is this baby gonna come out???'
| |
What I can't wait to do with you:
Sleep with you next to me on my futon. And down the road, I can't wait to take you on excursions and to do arts & crafts with you.
