Baby has arrived!

39 weeks and waiting
7 week vacation!!!!   School finally ended on Friday - I made it which is really cool, but now I want to meet William so bad.  I want to be able to spend as much time with him as I can before having to go back to work.  He seems to be very content where he is.  I went to the doctors last Monday and he said that William would probably be in my belly for a while still.  There is not a lot going on!  He started to drop on Wednesday though and has dropped even more since then.  I am going to get a massage/ pedicure today and who knows maybe he will decide to make an appearence soon after.  I hear that there are trigger points that encourage labor!  I guess we will see!

Less than 2 weeks left!
Less than two weeks to go - hopefully!  We have almost everything ready for Baby William to get here.  Chris' dad brought the crib on Friday and that has almost completed his room.  We still need to put in the mattress and the rest of the sports bears decor, but there is not a huge rush to do that since he will net be sleeping there for the first month and a half at least!  I thought I jinxed myself last week when I said that everything was going so well because hours later I was feeling really sick and crampy and then I ended up throwing up our entire Memorial Day BBQ.  I thought that this might be the beginning of my body getting ready to start labor (at least that was what everyone was telling me) but I was fine by that night and for the rest of the week.  William is still so high up I cannot imagine that I will be early - in fact I am starting to think that he will be late.  I would really like him to come some time in the next week though so that I can get a full six weeks in with him before I have to go back to school again.  My first year of teaching will officially be over on Thursday and I start back on July 31st, so the sooner Will decides to make an appearence the better!

37 and 1/2 weeks

I saw this fortune teller on another website and decided to try it out for fun here is what I got:

Madame Zaritska - What she predicts for you-

The day you deliver, outside will be breezy. Your baby will arrive in the early evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 14 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and will be 18-1/2 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and be completely bald.

But there is more. I sense that you are feeling some stress. This is very normal. However, I would like to suggest that you try some of these methods to pamper yourself a bit.

Time is flying by now!  There are only 8 more days of school.  My doctor said that he is pretty sure I will make it at least till schools out.  I feel pretty relieved, but at the same time a little sad because it means that baby William will not be coming for at least two more weeks!  He said that he thinks that my cervix is thinned out, but that it is so high still that he can hardly tell.  I asked him how big he thinks William was and he said not too big and not too small.  He also says that I am measuring perfectly for how far along I was and then made me an appointment for two weeks from now.  I thought that I was supposed to be seen every week now, but Kaiser seems to only do what is truly necessary for pregnancies.  I mean I haven't even had an ultrasound since our 20 week one which told us he was a boy.  I guess if they are not necessary there is no need to do them, but it is really neat to read about all of the moms who know almost exactly how big their babies are and stuff.

My family and I never thought that I would go to full term, but it seems like William has gotten pretty comfortable!  The weird part is that for the most part I am pretty comfortable too.  I have the typical pregnancy complaints, but I feel like I am doing really well.  Chris and I went to our Lamaze class last week and I was the farthest along, but I looked like I had one of the smallest bellies, and I moved around way faster than the other women who were due in July, August, and even September!  I think that the beginning of my pregnancy was so hard that everything feels pretty good now!  It also probably helps that I lost 17 pounds in the first five months which has helped me keep the weight gain to a minimum.  I have gained 8 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight, but 25 pounds if you include the 17 that I lost.

Chris and I had another great shower last weekend.  This one was thrown by my sisters and my mom.  The shower was at my house again which was really nice because I only had to bring the gifts upstairs instead of packing them into a car and transporting them. This was an all girl shower -except for Chris and Oskar because they refused to leave.  They stayed out of sight though because they went down to the dock and fished all day!  We had some games at this shower - the funniest one was a game where they melted chocolate candy bars into baby diapers and you had to guess which was which.  It was pretty gross and entertaining at the same time!  I had a ton of family and friends there and I just can't believe how blessed Chris and I (and Will) are to have the people we do in our lives!  We are really lucky!!!

Crazy week!

I have had a crazy past week and a half!  Last Sunday Chris and I had a scare.  I totally started bleeding after we were intimate.  It really scared me, but after talking to the doctors and doing a kick count I started to feel better.  I kind of spotted for like a day and a half and then it went away.  I really though that I was going to go into preterm labor of something.

Last week I though for sure that I would be having baby William before our due date - he felt so low and I felt so drained, but this week I feel much better.  I think that he might actually stay in there for the final four and a half weeks - which would be good because that means I get to finish out the school year, but who knows.

We had our first baby shower this weekend.  Chris' mom threw it and it was wonderful.  She really went above and beyond in the planning.  The food was great!!  The decorations were cute, and everybody seemed to have a good time.  I must admit that I was a bit overwhelmed with everything. Usually I would have no problem being social, but I though for sure I was going to throw up before we were supposed to open our presents!  I just get tired so quickly now!  We got more gifts for baby William than we could have imagined.  He is one lucky boy, and we are very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  We went from being completely unprepared for his arrival - to ready for him to be here in one day.  It is truly amazing!

This week is really busy at work - I have to be gone from 7:45A.M. to 8:00P.M. every night for the rest of the week.  Then Chris and I have our Lamaze class this Friday and Saturday, and we have our other baby shower on Sunday morning at our house.  (My sisters and mom are throwing it though so I don't have to do much to prepare for it!)  I will be happy to finally relax on Sunday night before starting another crazy work week!  These last few weeks are going to fly by at the rate I am going!!!
