Big Foot

Well, Brodie is officially calling me Big Foot now!  My feet and "cankles" (thanks Kyla!) seem to be swelling more now!  They get bigger and are swollen earlier in the day.  It used to be just when I was almost ready for bed, now they are swollen by 9AM!  Hahaha!  Oh well!  Today I think I have a good waddle going on...I am very slow and seem to be using a lot of energy to get around!

Not too much to update with Peanut these days, I can't believe how much s/he is moving though!  It seems like almost always there is something going on in there!  I can definitely tell the baby is getting bigger every day and is now enjoying trying to put his/her bum in my ribs!  That feels so good !  Hahaha!  It's OK, not much time left before this chapter is over...just another 5 weeks or so to enjoy it!  I have been very lucky so far during this pregnancy though!  I am so grateful that the experience has been positive, maybe we will do it again sometime!  Nevermind, lets not get ahead of ourselves!

So, Brodie and I have big news, on the weekend we bought a new car!  We got a 2008 Dodge Caliber.  Brodie really wanted the Avenger (amazing car) but it fell through and we got the Caliber (the one we originally looked at).  We made the deal on Saturday, but still the dealer can't seem to find a car for us!  He says he has searched all over Ontario and can't find one.  I am getting impatient and Brodie just keeps telling me to be patient...it is very hard for me to be patient right now though!  Oh well, it will happen soon I am sure!  I just can't wait to get in our new car!!!  Brodie will drive the Focus and we are going to get rid of the Mazda...it had a good run!

Also, Friday night Nana, Grandpa, Brodie, Mom and I went to Red Lobster to get rid of my Red Lobster craving.  I wanted coconut shrimp and some sort of white fish.  It was so good and I ate way too much!  Their coconut shrimp appetizer is for sharing I think, but I ate it all myself.  Mom ate 1 though...then my caesar salad, then of course the cheese biscuit!  Then the meal came and I had 3 pieces of sole and rice.  Grandpa showed up for desert and I didn't want him to have to have desert alone, so Brodie and I got a chocolate, cookie, ice cream desert thing and I started to feel sick!  I went to Mel's for a swim just so I didn't feel so huge!  We swam for about an hour and a half then I went home and had the best sleep I have had in weeks!  I haven't had another one that good since though :(  I guess I just need to do more swimming!  LOL!  I look hot in my "fat suit" by the way!

My next Dr. appt is next Tuesday but I will try to put up pictures tonight...stay tuned!

Have a great week everyone, missing my family on The Rock!

6 more weeks, can you believe it!?

Hello all my loyal blog readers!

Well just 6 more weeks, can you believe it?  We can't!  The last 34 weeks have gone so fast and we have enjoyed it so much, I am starting to have a hard time imagining myself without the belly and getting kicked in the ribs!  We are excited for the next chapter though, we are very hopeful we will be good parents!

Yesterday I had an appt at the hospital to get pre-registered.  What a great idea!  I went in and spoke to a Nurse and we went through my birth plan and all my insurance papers and my health history and my pregnancy health.  It was a great meeting.  She talked about the epidural with me and showed me the tubes they use to administer it.  She also reviewed the community resources available to us.  She gave me information as to where I can go to have the car seat installed which was great!  So, once we get to the hospital we don't have to worry about the paperwork and answer a million questions.  That is exciting!

Today I had the 34 week Dr. appt.  They said Peanut's head is down which is great.  There is still time for him/her to change position, but for now we are in good shape!  My blood pressure was fine and today Peanut's heartrate was at 160-170!  It has never been that high!  Guess that spices up the guessing game as to the sex of Peanut!  Most people think we are having a girl but 2 or 3 people have said boy...guess we will have to wait just a little longer to find out!  As for my weight gain...drum roll please............another 4 lbs!  I made an effort to try to eat half decent the last 2 weeks so I have decided my body wants to gain 2 lbs a week and there is nothing I can do about it!  I just need to make sure I eat my fruits and veggies and drink lots of milk so I can make sure Peanut is super strong for the big day!  So, the total weight gain is about 37 lbs I believe now.  I go back to see the Dr. on July 29th then I go every week after that.

I also found out today that my Dr. has holidays planned for the week we are due!  He said he doesn't plan to go far but we will discuss it closer to the day.  He doesn't want me stressing about it yet.  I don't see how he would prefer to have an upset 39 week pregnant lady over a 34 week pregnant lady!  From what I hear, I may get grumpy near the end and I am not afraid to take him on.  LOL!

I think that's it for an update for now.  I can't think of much else!  Busy week this week, visiting with Brodie's parents tonight and Thursday night, tomorrow Brodie is playing ball on Cat's team and Friday we are having Mom over for dinner since her and Nana and Grandpa leave Sunday for Newfie...I am sad they are going to be gone for 2 weeks!  Then the next weekend the rest of the family leaves.  If nothing else, it will be a quiet 2 weeks!  LOL!  Just kidding guys, love you!

On Saturday Mom took me for a pedicure!  I was sad to take off the polish Brodie did for me, but at the same time it felt so good to get the pedicure!  My toes look gorgeous and my feet are so soft!

Have a great week everyone, thanks again for reading our blog!

Peanut's a natural swimmer!

Last night Mom and I went to Cindy's for a swim in her new pool.  It was the first time I have gone swimming in my maternity suit and I was so excited!  I was a little nervous going into the deep end at first, I wasn't sure if I would float belly up or sink!  So, we each got a pool noodle and just floated and chatted!  When we realized we were all pruned up we discovered we had been in the water for 2 hours.  It was so nice!  There was no pressure, I didn't feel swollen feet or ankles, and the sensations were very cool!  When I would float on my belly, Peanut would basically sink to the front of my belly and stay there until I moved.  I discovered when I stand/float straight up and down that Peanut would go right down onto my bladder and being in a pool that wasn't a great thing so I tried to avoid that!

Once I got home it was about 9:20 and I was exhausted!  Who knew floating could be so tiring?  So, Brodie and I went right to bed to watch the finale of The Bachelorette.  Peanut was so active once I got into bed!  We watched my belly moving for over an hour and I think it was the most active s/he has been through this whole pregnancy!  Sometimes I thought maybe s/he was trying to bust out of there by how far my belly was moving and how hard the kicks and rolls were!  I was laughing pretty hard a couple times but I couldn't help it.  It was just so funny!  I also have noticed Peanut doesn't like to be cold.  So, if my belly is out in the cool air for too long s/he stops moving but if I put my hand on my belly, the kicks come back right where my hand is.

It is funny that this little person has a personality so big already and I don't even know what Peanut looks like!  It is so much fun and I can't believe there are only 7 weeks left until we get to meet our little baby!  I have been so lucky through the pregnancy so far and I hope it continues through the next 7 or so weeks!

Have a great day!

I can't reach my toe nails!

Thursday night Brodie was watching my try to take off my old toe nail polish so I could paint them a pretty coral colour Rochelle gave me.  He saw me seriously struggling and out of breath from such a small job!  LOL!  So, my amazing husband painted my toe nails!  I was so excited and he did such a great job!  Thanks baby!

Friday we took the afternoon off work and drove to Barrie with Mom, Nana & Grandpa.  It was a good time and we got to visit with Kevin.  He made burgers for us on his deck.  It was so nice to visit with him and Ashley!  We also got to meet their ferret Goose who made me laugh a lot, Brodie really likes him!  He is funny!  They took us on a tour of Barrie and to the mall to see where Ashley works.  She works at a shoe store and we all ended up getting new shoes because she gets such great deals!  Thanks Ash!  They then took us to the beach and we went for a nice walk down the boardwalk.  That was beautiful!

Today we shopped all day and I got a new pair of pants for work since mine don't fit anymore and I got a new shirt for bumming around the house.  Great thing is, it is a nursing top so it will be great for later if I don't stretch the belly out too much!  LOL!  Peanut wouldn't kick for anyone but was doing some fierce somersaults this morning!

We had a couple of milestones this week.  I now get up more than once per night to pee and I have started to waddle.  I guess that means we are just getting closer and closer, right?  Nana gave Brodie a little baby hat with Toronto Maple Leafs on it and she gave us a pair of mitts, 2 toques and 6 different botties (she says you aren't supposed to put matching booties on a baby...she doesn't know why though!).  Thanks Nana!  Our baby sure will be warm!

UFC is on tonight so we get to just relax.  That's good cause I think my feet are swollen and we are tired from the 4 1/2 car ride home!  Have a good weekend everyone, happy birthday Greg!
