We are 6 days from our due date! How crazy is that!? I went to the Dr. for our 39 week checkup yesterday. My regular Doc is on holidays this week and next week so I go to meet the Doc who will deliver Peanut if he is not available still. She is a very nice older lady and I really liked her a lot!
At the appt, I gained 2 more lbs, BP was fine, swelling is fine, heart rate was at 160 bpm and my tummy measured fine.
She decided not to do an internal this time, because I have not been having any contractions or signs of labour starting any time soon. She will do one next time I go (if we don't have Peanut before then!). She wasn't able to see me again until next Thursday so if I get back in to see her, I will be over due by 2 days! Crazy to think the next time I go to the Doc I will be OVERDUE!!! Can you believe it?
Peanut is moving a little less these days but I don't blame him/her, there is no room in there!!! Peanut and I also had our first little chat about when s/he will join us. I got my Unemployment stuff done on Monday so we are really ready anytime. I don't think we are going to get any more prepared so we can do this anytime now!
Today is my 3rd day off work...I am enjoying my time so much! I went swimming at Cindy's, worked on a quilt, I have done a lot of Sudoku puzzles, watched the Olympics, watched movies, cleaned some of the house, etc...it has been nice waking up when I want and not having anything to do! My sleeping patterns aren't great though...I am not sure why. I am waking up more through the night and can't figure out why! It is driving me crazy though because I can't get back to sleep once I wake up and it could take upto an hour to get back sleeping! That is crazy! LOL!
Well, I will keep the blog updated while I am off...keep checking to see when baby Earls will arrive!

Installing Car Seats should not be a job for parents to be!
Brodie and I thought this morning we would install the car seat. It was the most frustrating thing we have done together in quite a while! First, I didnt really fit in the back seat with Brodie, the car seat, the instructions, etc...it was so complicated and the instructions were horrible! Finally we got fed up and I called Mel. Her husband Rob helped Brodie get everything in and working properly. THANKS ROB!!! So, now everything is ready to go for little Peanut!
We went to WalMart last night and got the diaper bag we wanted. So, I am going to get a few things in there today and hopefully finish packing the bag for the hospital and we will be as ready as we are ever going to be! As far as I know, we have everything we really NEED for Peanut to be safe and comfortable. There are still a few things we would LIKE to have but in time we will hopefully get them!
I am going to apply for EI on the computer now, I want to make sure I have that process all done before we go to the hospital! LOL! You never know when the baby will decide it is time! I am sure since I am rushing to get it done, s/he will be a week overdue! LOL!
Monday for my first day off work, I am hoping to get to the EI office to drop off my ROE, go swimming at Cindy's, cook a decent meal for Brodie for the first time in forever and maybe sleep in a little! I hope I can accomplish everything I want! For the rest of the week, I have nothing else planned, I am still just waiting for the "nesting instinct" to kick in so I can get the house cleaned up a bit and more organized! Brodie did quite a bit this morning when I was unable to move off the couch, so there are just a few more things I want to get done.
I guess that is it for now, not much is new in the world of Peanut! S/he seems to slip a little further down each day so now my belly is really resting on my legs and it is quite heavy! LOL!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Getting Organized
I am a little bored right now so thought I would do an update...sorry I still haven't put up pics from the shower, I haven't had time to go on the computer at home all week!
Tuesday night, we met Greg at Wal-Mart in Woodstock and got the carseat, stroller and diaper genie! Yay! We got them all set up and in working order when we got home after dinner at Montana's...mmm...my favourite place for steak!
I think we will be putting the carseat in tomorrow night...it will be strange driving around with an empty car seat though...won't it? Maybe I will put a teddy bear in there and put up the mirror (so I can see the baby) and practice driving with someone else in the car with me! LOL! People might think I am slightly crazy...what do you think?
I also finished the 4 loads of laundry of clothes, washcloths, blankets, towels, etc...for Peanut. Brodie and I spent forever folding everything and some of it was difficult! I lost a mitten but found it in a blanket. I think socks and mittens should be put in a delicates bag in the wash so we don't lose them! I pulled it out last night for the next time I have to do a load!
Last night Brodie and I thought we would get out the new monitor and figure it out. It has video and sound and the video also has night vision! It is awesome! As we were figuring everything out, I pulled out a cord and wasn't sure what it was for...of course Brodie knew, it plugs in to the TV! So, we hooked up the monitor to the big tv and had some fun! Brodie was making me look up his nose, he was posing, I was checking to see if there was anything in his teeth, and from all that the only thing I realized is he is crazy! He will be a fun Dad I think though! I am so excited for him to finally be able to bond with Peanut like I have and see how beautiful this little person is. It is amazing how babies have a distinct personality when they are in the womb. Peanut is shy I think. S/he doesn't like a lot of people playing with him/her. Not many people have felt the kicks of our little one, because s/he always lays still when others are around! It is quite funny!
Peanut has had the hiccups a lot lately, almost every day! It is quite funny and I laugh out loud most of the time! My feet are swelling more and more but still it isn't really going above my ankles too much...thank goodness! I can't get them into my crocs anymore which I was quite surprised to discover! I just wear flip flops anymore anyway! My boss said I could wear them to work so I do! I haven't worn anything but my Havanna's in a couple months! I love them! I also am starting to get tired...not of being pregnant, just my energy level! I was in bed last night at 9:30, I only woke once to go to the bathroom and I didn't even hear Brodie leave this morning...that was the first time since we have been married I think I haven't heard him get up and get ready! After all that sleep, I still woke up absolutely wiped! I figure it is ok though, I have done very well through this pregnancy!
I am torn on my feelings these days though. Once we got the car seat home, I felt so relieved and ready to meet Peanut. I had been so worried about it, even though I know it would have worked itself out. I feel like we are "prepared" but I love being pregnant, I am not sure we are "ready"! Does that make sense? I guess we will just let Peanut decide when it is time and go from there! Just 12 days until our due date and we are getting more excited with each passing day!
Tomorrow is my last day of work...WAHOO! I will try to post pictures from the shower tomorrow, I am going for a big work dinner tonight...it was our company golf tourney, but I really didn't want to walk a golf course in 25 degrees with a bunch of drunk co-workers...not my cup of prego tea! LOL! So, I am just going for the dinner so I can say goodbye to all the out of towners...
I will update again soon...

Baby Shower and Doctor Appt
Saturday Mom came over and we finished Peanut's room! We got the dresser completely finished and it looks so great! I love how it turned out! Rochelle brought me the glider chair and footrest for the room, as well as a carseat to borrow in case we don't get one in time and a bassinette that we are going to use in the basement (living room). Thanks for everything ladies! You're the best!
Sunday was our first baby shower for Peanut! It was in the perfect room at Ruth's building and hosted by Ruth, Aunt Cat and Mom. It was so great! The room was decorated amazingly, they did 1/2 in blue and 1/2 in pink...I guess they are sick of yellow at this point! There was lots of food that I was given to take home (it's all gone now) and a great group of Women were able to come to celebrate! It was so fun to see everyone, I haven't seen most of those Ladies in quite a while! Peanut was spoiled yet again...I have done 2 loads of laundry so far but I think I have 2 or 3 left for tonight. It is fun to go through it all and see everything we have for our little baby! We got lots of blankets, onesies, sleepers, washcloths, hooded towels, a bath robe, a baby spa (bath tub), high chair, tons of hand knitted sweaters, toques, mittens, blankets, picture frames, a baby sling (so fashionable), gift cards, and even more! Thanks to everyone, it is all so helpful to us to start this new chapter!
We think we are going with Brodie's Dad this week to get the stroller and car seat so that will be great!
I just got back from the Doctor for our 38 week appointment. All is still good! My blood pressure is same as last time (good) and the heartbeat was 140-145...I gained 2 lbs this week (I think it is 1 but I did have a bunch of dognuts before I went which could be the other pound). The Doctor said it has been a pretty easy pregnancy and I agree! I have nothing to compare it to, but I think I have done pretty well so far! I am ready for Peanut to come anytime now, but I am not anxious yet...I am still enjoying all the kicks and the constant hiccups! Also, babies are much less scary when they are inside! LOL! Brodie has decided he is ready to get this show on the road, he doesn't want to wait anymore...that is good! At least one of us sounds confident! LOL!
Our Dr. starts his vacation next week but is going to be in town for most of it so if Peanut decides it is time, he may still be available to do the delivery! If not, it will be the other Dr. in the practice that delivers and I have my next appointment with her next Tuesday.
Just 3 1/2 more days of work before I am off for the next year! That is so exciting! I can't believe the time is almost here! It has gone so quickly and I am so excited to meet Peanut in the next few weeks! I tried to put up pictures last night but our internet was down, I will try again tonight...I have pictures from the shower and of the dresser.
