I felt Peanut!!!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited right now!

So, over the past few days sitting at my desk, laying in bed, driving in my car, etc...I have felt this strange "fluttering" feeling where Peanut is!  Some people say in their belly, but my baby isn't in my belly...she/he is just below that as you all know!  So anyway, I figured it was just my muscles getting ready to expand or gas or something...

Just now one of my co-workers asked me if I had felt the "fluttering" yet and I knew exactly what she was talking about!  I said "Yeah I felt it...what is it?!"  She told me it is Peanut!  Wow!  I didn't know I would be able to feel the baby so early!  Then I went on the internet and found lots of women who said they started to feel their babies around 12 weeks (I am 13 1/2) and it feels like "fluttering"!  Wow!  Oh my gosh I'm too excited to work!  LOL!

Also, we got our fabulous replacement Christmas gift today (We traded in plane tickets to Newfoundland tha we couldn't use for a dishwasher!!!) and we are so excited to use it when Peanut comes!  I think our life will be so much easier with it!

Well, I should have the ultrasound pics up this weekend, love you all!

Peanut at 12 weeks

Week 12
Now that you are 12 weeks pregnant, your baby already weighs 14 grams, has reflexes and because of muscular development, can even move its limbs! You would now be able to hear your baby's heart beat with the aid of a Doppler, which your practitioner should have. Your baby's heart rate will be very fast, at about 160 beats per minute.

You'll also now notice a face profile, complete with a tiny chin and nose. The baby is now able to swallow, and its tiny fingernails and toenails are forming.

At this stage of your pregnancy, you should start to feel a little better. You'll feel less tired and your nausea will begin to subside. Expect compliments on your "pregnancy glow"; the increased blood volume and pregnancy hormones work together to increase oil gland secretion, resulting in flushed, plumper and smoother skin appearance. You'll also notice the appearance of the linea nigra, a dark line drawn from your belly button.

The risk of a miscarriage is now greatly reduced and sits below 5%. Your placenta is now taking over the production of hormones.

I am very frustrated!

Brodie and I have been trying for an hour to scan the ultrasound images onto the computer and IT IS NOT WORKING!!!  I will work on this again tomorrow, hopefully we can get it working and the pics will be up!

Ta-ta for now!

Ciao
