Ultrasound

Good Morning everyone!

Well, Brodie and I got another glimpse of Peanut!  We had our 20 week ultrasound on Saturday morning.  I drank lots of water, and the technician said I did a great job...not too much, not too little!  Yay !

I told her we do not want to know the sex and she said it was good I told her...then about halfway through I asked her if she knew the sex and she said she definitely knows the sex!  It is neat that someone knows!  LOL!

So, she was doing her thing and I kept noticing she had strange looks on her face...now this lady is not the most friendly woman on earth and she doesn't like to talk during the "procedure".  I waited quite a while before saying "The baby isn't cooperating?" and she actually laughed and said no.  She said she was trying to count the toes but when Peanut wasn't upside down and being a real acrobat, s/he was pushing his/her feet right against the uterine wall or putting his/her legs up at his/her head so she couldn't count them.  She told me to turn on my left...then turn on my right...then on my back...then go to the washroom...then on my left...then on my right, etc...you get the picture.  I think I was on the table for like an hour before she finally gave up on counting the toes and brought Brodie in so we could see Peanut!

S/he really was active!  We saw arms moving and yawning and at one point Peanut turned and looked right at us...it was great to see our baby again!

Last night when we were watching Big Brother Peanut was kicking harder than normal.  I put my hand on my belly to see if I could feel it and for the first time, I did feel the kicks on the outside!  Peanut is very stubborn like his/her Mommy though...everytime I move the kicks stop or if I keep my hand on my belly for too long I think it gets too warm and the kicks stop...grrrr...I was whispering for Brodie to come and feel but by the time he figured out what I was saying , it had stopped.  I am going to have to start sitting right beside him from now on so he can feel the kicking too!  It was neat!

Well, I have put pictures on the Photo album of the ultrasound...they aren't the best images because I took pictures of them...my scanner isn't working...but I was actually surprised at how well they turned out!

Have a great week everyone!

We're halfway!

Well, as of yesterday we are halfway through our journey!  That isn't to say Peanut will be born right on Aug. 26th, but it is exciting that we have made it this far!

Yesterday was the monthly Dr. appt...it went well!  My blood pressure was good, Peanut's heartbeat was at 145 and I have gained a whopping total of 9 lbs since day 1!  That is amazing considering I eat 50 lbs of food each day!  LOL!  The Dr. said everything looks great and the baby seems to be growing properly.  He said to make sure I tell the ultrasound tech this Saturday that I don't want to know the sex...I am glad he is on my side :)

I have posted pics of my 20 week bump...it seems to grow each day!

I am feeling a lot of movement these days...Peanut seems to only want to play when I am sitting...not when I am laying down or standing.  I feel him/her a lot when we eat dinner which is funny...I keep trying to feel the kicks from the outside for Brodie, but nothing so far...they are getting a lot stronger though so maybe very soon!!!  Last night when we were watching Big Brother the kicks were the strongest they have been yet!  It was very cool!

Tonight Brodie and I are going to see Avril Lavigne at the JLC!  Yay!  He isn't too excited but I really like her and I want to go so bad!  He's a good guy to sit through it with me :)  This is going to be Peanut's second concert...I hope s/he likes music!

Well, next update will probably be after our next ultrasound which is this Saturday at 9:30...I will post pics after for you all to see :)

Have a great week!

What a fun Saturday!

Howdy Everyone!

Yesterday, Rochelle and I went shopping in Port Huron.  We were in Target and she found the most adorable bedding set!  I couldn't leave without getting it!  I couldn't believe how perfect it was for the room!  I have attached pics so everyone can see.  Then when I got home Melissa, Hailey and I put it all on the crib...it is perfect!  I got the mobile to match too, I love it!

On Wednesday Mom, Cathy and I went to Dirty Dancing in Toronto...we went on a bus trip with a bunch of delivery room nurses!  I was in good hands for the day!  Kim Hailey got me a bib from the show, it is baby blue and it says "Nobody puts BABY in a corner!"  LOL!  I love it!

This week will mark the 1/2 way point of the pregnancy, I will put up new pics of my "bump" probably tomorrow or Tuesday.  My next Dr. appt is Tuesday then ultrasound on Saturday!  It will be a good week!

Time for lunch, have a great week everyone, check back for updates from the Dr. and Ultrasound :)

What a weekend!

Happy Monday!

I tried to put up this entry yesterday but I received an error after like 20 mins of typing!  I was a little upset!

Well, I hope you all had a good weekend, we sure did!  We were very busy, but it was all fun stuff!

I don't remember what we did Friday night, otherwise I would tell you...Saturday we were up bright and early and we drove to Cambridge.  We went to UC Baby and had a blast!  This is where they do 3D ultrasounds but we cancelled that procedure.  I decided not to have it done.  But, we did do "Heartbeat Bears"!  It was so cool!  The technician took us into the incredible room where Brodie sat on a leather chair and we looked in front of us at the HD Plasma TV...they use an ultrasound machine to listen to the heartbeat so we actually got to see Peanut for a few minutes!  She listened to the heartbeat and recorded it on her machine.  Then she put it into 4 little recorders.  She mentioned she forgot to tell me the heart rate so she wanted to take another quick look to get that for me.  When she looked back at Peanut, s/he was staring straight at us!  It was a little creepy!  She told us the heartbeat was at 146.  After she was done, she gave the recorders to the receptionist who insterted them into the bears.  So, when you push on the bear's heart you hear Peanut's heartbeat!  How cool, eh!?

It was especially great because this was the first time Brodie had heard the heartbeat and seen an ultrasound!  I think he enjoyed it :)  Especially seeing it on a Plasma TV...of course he enjoyed it!  LOL!

So, after that we went to Delhi for a visit with Greg and Deb.  We gave them a bear and I think they love it :)  We had a nice visit with them then off we were to the next stop!  We went for a little visit with Melissa, Ronnie & Hailey.  Ronnie wasn't home but Hailey and Melissa were knee deep in Play-Do!  We visited with them for a little bit, then off we were again!

This time we went home for 1 hour then over to Dad's for Jake's birthday supper.  Jake asked for perch for his dinner, I think I literally ate 15 pieces of perch!  I  didn't get full until after cake though!  I couldn't belive I ate so much, but it was so good, and Dad just kept making more!  It is his fault!  LOL!  When I was eating my cake I was shocked that my jaw hurt!  I have never had that happen before!  It was just so tired from eating so much!  LOL!  We had a good visit at Dad's.  Then we went home and I was in bed at 9 and asleep by 9:30.  I was exhausted!

More great news...when Bro and I were in Cambridge, we found out 2 angels had snuck into our place!  Jo and Aunt Cindy we finishing decorating the nursery!  They put up the wallpaper mural and what a job they did!  I put pictures up in the photo album.  Thank you ladies, you did an amazing job!  So, yesterday Mom, Brodie and I put together the crib and change table.  I put pictures up of these too.

We have received some gifts up to this point so I put them all out on the change table.  I can't believe someone will actually fit into those tiny diapers!  We received newborn diapers from my boss Sandi and they are so tiny!  It is funny :)

Well, we got our computer fixed over the weekend too, so hopefully I can put up "bump" pictures each week so everyone can see our growth!

I hope you all have a fabulous week!
