Evolution of movement
It's funny how around 17-20 weeks, you start to feel flutters, then around 21-28 weeks you feel rolls, waves and some kicks but now that I'm 31 weeks, it's been replaced by that tsunami feeling and major stretching.  It just feels like this thing that's pushing against stretched out skin.  I think he's starting to run out of room.  Whenever I look at my belly in the mirror, I can't help but notice the taut skin and the blue veins that are running up and down my belly.  I'm still amazed that my navel hasn't popped out yet but I think it might in these last 2 months--or not.  We'll see.

Wearing maternity clothes definitely get you more stares and attention from other people. I think this is why I was kinda hesitant to wear maternity clothes.  Well that and the fact that I didn't really wanna spend money on clothes unless I had to.

Last Saturday, the hubby and I went to BRU (Babies 'R Us) for a Breastfeeding and Maternity Fair.  The lactation consultant was really blunt and honest about some of the products that are available out there.  So far she only recommended one type of bottle and it's not even from Medela (which she's supposed to represent).  She gave some wonderful advice for the new moms about latching and the mechanics of how babies feed.  I really do hope I get a good lactation consultant when the time comes cause that can make a world of a difference.  Although I am a bit worried about breastfeeding, especially with all the horror stories you hear from moms, I'm not the least bit scared about it.  In fact, I'm looking forward to it.  I have to say, I wasn't breastfed.  I've talked to my mom about this and it's sad that she didn't really try hard enough and it sucks that she was misguided and misinformed about a lot of things so I vowed to learn as much as I can about breastfeeding.  Hopefully I can keep at it for at least 6months.

So when I got home after the fair last weekend,  I examined my cousin's Pump in Style.  I know that they recommend not to use someone else's pump which I truly agree but I examined the diaphragm part and it was clean.  I have bought new parts for it and will get new collection bottles so I think it will be okay.  I know some of you might still disagree but unless I get some extra cash from the baby shower, I don't know if I'd pay $250 for a new one.  I'll see how this one works and if it's not for me then maybe I'll consider renting one from my provider.  Anyway, I wanted to read the instructions so I won't be clueless when the time comes.  It's a little bit overwhelming at first because of all the parts involved but it's pretty simple.  I'm just wondering how I can use the disposable bags to collect the milk.  Do I hook it up to the pumps or do I just transfer it to the bags from the collection bottles? I guess that one I have to ask.  I was tempted to try it out but I don't wanna stimulate my boobs and end up leaking.

This Friday is the 3D ultrasound and next week is our baby shower.  Can't wait for that!!!  Someone's already bought us some stuff from the registry which really surprised me since I know most people wait until the week or the day of to purchase stuff.

Shopping for maternity clothes
So is it weird that I don't really enjoy shopping for maternity clothes?  Normally I love to shop but I think it's because these are clothes that I need and not necessarily want.  Sure I try to find clothes that look cute and appropriate for work but still.  *sigh*

I seem to go shopping for new clothes everytime I get paid.  Yesterday when I went, I noticed that my stomach is REALLY out there.  There's no hiding the fact that I'm definitely pregnant.  It only took about 7 months.    Before I did want my bump to be more noticeable but now that it is, hmm.. I don't know.  I'm not ashamed or anything.  I just feel weird I guess.  I just hope the clothes I got will last me through the last few days of pregnancy since I plan to work pretty close to my due date.

I look at my wardrobe wistfully everyday wondering when I can fit into them.  Let's not even talk about shoes....

3D/4D Ultrasound
Seems like we'll have some extra cash this month so I think we're gonna go for a 3D ultrasound.  I'm about the right time to do it so we might as well.  We really didn't wanna do this before since the Level 2 ultrasound is what we need but we are a bit curious as to how our little boy is growing so hopefully I can schedule it next week.  We found a couple of places near our house that can do it so I'm pretty happy about that.  It's weird that there's one right next door to my chiro's office that I never noticed in the past.  I noticed it when I was about 17 weeks along.

Has anybody done this?  If so, were you satisfied with the results?  It seems like when I see galleries of the babies in websites, they all look the same.

Adjustments to the Registry
Last night we went to Babies 'R Us to add a few things to our registry.  We haven't put any safety stuff there so we did that.  We added some 3-6 month and 9-12 month clothings there cause we didn't really have any clothing put on the Babies 'R Us registry.  I guess what we did was to kinda make the Babies 'R Us and Target registries similar cause I know some people don't have access to Babies 'R Us in their town or are not comfortable ordering online.  We all know that Target is pretty much everywhere and therefore more accessible.  However, there are some things that Babies 'R Us has that Target doesn't.  So I guess we have 3 more weeks before the showers.  I'm getting pretty excited.  I really wanna start on the nursery but until the showers, we don't wanna do anything drastic.  It doesn't mean however that we're just gonna sit on our ass doing nothing.   There is much to be done.
