Car Seat inspection and maternity leave
I brought in our car seat today so I can have one of my coworkers inspect it.  When the hubby installed the seat, he put both the regular car seat and the LATCH system on.  I didn't know you were only supposed to use one or the other.  We made sure it was snug and tight and I'm pretty confident that our baby will be pretty safe in the car seat.  I can't wait to see him in it.

I also talked to my supervisor about when I should start my leave.  I've decided on the beginning of October.  I just hope that baby boy won't make his entrance before then but if he does, oh well.  I'm just glad that I have a target date that I can start staying home.  It's all just a waiting game right now and I'm pretty excited but I still got lots of work I need to finish up.

Setting up the nursery
Since we live in a 2 bedroom condo, we have to get creative with making things fit in the nursery/guest bedroom.  Thank God we have a dual master so the space is pretty big.  Even with the full size bed (for my MIL) in the room, we should still have space for the crib and the glider.  The crib looks so cute!  The mattress came in a few days ago so we put everything together and I can just imagine looking down at our baby boy watching him sleep.  We also changed the Roman shades we have into regular curtains, which makes the room more cozy.

We got the travel system a few days ago and we've been playing around with it to make sure that everything's working properly.  I'd have to bring the base and the infant carrier to work so they can show me how to install it properly.  Honestly right now, in case he does make an early appearance, we're pretty much ready.  I have a feeling though that he'll still stay in there for awhile until he's fully baked.

We've got one more baby shower next Sunday so I think after that, we'll start washing the baby clothes.  We did put away some of the clothes we already got according to month sizes and I think we need more 3-6 and 6-9 month clothing.  Other than that, he should be good to go for awhile.

I can't believe that in a few weeks, I'll be a mom.  Even though I know our lives will change tremendously, I can't wait for the challenges I'm about to face.  I loved being a wife to my husband but I think I'm gonna love being a mother even more.  Everytime I see my husband's face light up whenever he tinkers or sees baby stuff, I fall in love with him even more.  I just think he's gonna be a great dad.

Baby Showers #1 and #2
We're back from Southern California!  We had the family baby showers last weekend which was awesome!   For the most part, we got almost all the big items that we wanted.  So far we have the crib, the mattress, the glider w/ottoman, travel system and the pack 'n play.  The travel system however will come in later on.  I just hope that we get it before the baby comes.. hehe..  We bought the dresser and I think someone got the changing pad for us according to our registry.  So far, he's got tons of clothing but you know you'll always need more since they grow alarmingly fast.

To be honest, I am getting quite nervous about this baby.  I'm still kinda iffy on when to take off.  Some people tell me to maximize my maternity leave by working as close as possible to my due date but some tell me to get some time off so you can prepare yourself physically and emotionally.  I think I'll just go by whatever I'm comfortable with.  If it's getting too hard to drive to work, then I'll take off.  I just hope he doesn't come 2 weeks late. *crosses fingers*

Maternity Shots
I wanted to commemorate this first time pregnancy by taking some type of nice photos while I'm pregnant.  At first I thought I can just do it myself but I've never done any artistic type of photography.  So when the Babies 'R Us catalog came in,  Kiddie Kandids was offering a free 8x10 maternity picture so I took advantage.  I went yesterday and the pictures turned out really nice.  It'll make a great keepsake for the future.

In other news, the baby shower at my parents' house is getting chaotic.  All I can say is, all this ranting I hear from my sister regarding my parents makes me regret having this baby shower at their house.  All I heard from my mom about this whole pregnancy is complaints.   Excuse me?!?  Who's having the baby here?  I never asked you to do anything for me.  All I wanted was a little enthusiasm.  It seems like we're cramping her style.  Geez Louise, if she's gonna be like this then I wouldn't want anything to do with her once this baby is born.  I'm sorry, this isn't just my hormones talking but this is years and years of constant disappointments and frustrations.  It's really getting to me!  I can't be having this once this baby is born.  I've already kinda washed my hands off of her.  For someone who's old, she's getting crabbier by the year.  I thought you're supposed to mellow out in your twilight years?  This may sound sad but why can't she be more like my mother-in-law?

P.S.  I added my maternity shots in the Photo Album Section.
