Still going... Just a little update that things are going good. I am slowly getting bigger and the little wiggle worm lets me know when she wants to eat (I think she has her fathers appetite). The only strange thing that has developed is my bloody nose, nothing too bad but they strike sort of randomly. I have taken the little girl to a musical and to a concert, she seemed to enjoy both and responds well to almost any music. I am still finishing up making a few blankets then hope to move on to some toys and maybe some clothes. Mike has started the process to come home, he is expected back just after the middle of September. That's about for now!

Surprise! It turns out its a girl! Who knew, certainly not anyone I know, even the trust Chinese Calculator was wrong. So all thinking is being adjust to the though of its going to be a girl. My Mom and I went shopping after my appointment and she bought her her first doll and some clothes. As long as nothing has the word princess on it I can handle it. The baby is really really active, considering I have felt it moving since week 14 or so and now she is an active kicker and poker. The woman doing the ultrasound made several comments on how much she moved around, it took quite awhile for her to get all of the images she needed because the wiggle work kept wiggling. My monthly doctors appointment with my new mysterious doctor is tomorrow so we will see if there are any new developments there.

Books and an update I thought I would mention the few books I am looking at. I have tried to avoid looking at too much because I dont really want to read about all the negative things that could, it would just make me paranoid. The first book is Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. This book breaks things down to a weekly level, I tend to just read as I go. It also has charts for each month with symptoms and what you should do (ex. wait till your next appointment, call next day or see Dr immediatly). There is also a lot of information on the actual birth and such but I am still avoiding that sort of topic.
Ina May's Guide to Childbirth is another book I am working on. It goes into actual childbirth, trying to make it less scary. It also covers some of the history of childbirth. Written by a well known midwife, it is a whole different approach to the topic.
The third and possibly greatest book about baby stuff ever is called Baby Bargins. This book covers all sorts of baby product, gives reviews and suggestions and is a guide of what you should and shouldnt buy new and used. It covers different budgets and has just been very useful. The authors include information provided by readers and have updated the book often.
So the latest updat is the kid is kicking like crazy. It was weird to feel it moving but its even weirder to look down and see it! The next ultrasound is this week and we will possibly find out if its a girl or boy along with checking to make sure everything is going good. I will post any news and pictures when I get them.

Cloth Diapers So Mike and I knew we wanted to do cloth diapers for a long time. I have been trying to look into it and get an idea of the different ways it can be done. This weekend however I finally went to Belly Sprout and got the lowdown. There are lots of good options and the owner explained them all along with how to clean them and what was involved. Basically now it feels like something we can totally do. Also while there I was able to see some of the baby carrier options out there (I have been reading review but wanted to see them in person) and think I have confirmed what we are going to get. I already got a good deal on a Hotsling on ebay and now am looking for an Ergo Carrier which I think will work out really good.
