Sean and I went baby furniture "looking" this weekend and I'm 99.9% sure we found Baby A's furniture.
Originally, I thought we'd only spend a few $100 on baby furniture, but after visiting Baby's 1st Furniture, we are both singing a different tune. We found a crib that converts into a toddler bed and then a full-size bed, so it's a bed that our baby can use from birth until their first home! Heck...the quality is such that they could use it as guest room furniture when they are grown and married with kids of their own! We also picked out the matching dresser with hutch, nighstand and chest. I also found the world's most comfy rocking chair/glider (that actually RECLINES!!). We like the antique black (as in the picture) whether it's a girl or a boy. It's got a weathered look with a hint of red that peeps through. It's BEAUTIFUL!!! (Oh...and in case the picture is too small -- the brand is Creations and the model is "Summer's Evening").
We won't go back to order until sometime in February, but it's exciting to know that we've found our baby's furniture. Here is a picture of it:

Hearing the heartbeat...
Those of you who know me will laugh at this...and not be the least bit surprised, either! But...since finding out we were expecting, the one thing Sean and I have wanted to do the most is hear our baby's heartbeat. With two doctor visits and 12 weeks of pregnancy behind us, we still hadn't heard the hearbeat.
That is...until yesterday. A friend recommended a website, www.babybeat.com. Apparently, you can rent a fetal doppler from them which allows you to listen to your baby's heartbeat anytime you want...from the comfort of your own home. Ever the impatient one, I immediately went online and ordered my very own fetal doppler (you rent them for $22/month).
The doppler arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait for Sean to get home so we could try it. We turned it on, squirted some oh-so-cold gel on my tummy, and went to work. it took all of about 5 seconds for us to find Baby A! And soon we were hearing the "whoosh, whoosh" of our baby's heartbeat! There are no words to describe that sound...it is truly magical! We listened for a good minute then let Baby Aguilar go back to resting.
It was the sweetest sound I've ever heard and I have a feeling I'll be listening to our angel's heartbeat every night!

Our second doctor's visit
Today was our 2nd doctor's visit. It was a very quick visit (maybe 10 minutes max!) but we got to see Baby Aguilar again! WOW how he/she has grown in the last 4 weeks! Sean and I could not believe it! Instead of looking like a bean, our angel looks like a baby! We even got to see he/she wave at us and kick its little feet! Truly awe-inspiring!
Since we decided not to do the genetic testing, there wasn't much to this visit. Everything looks good. We still haven't gotten to hear the heartbeat, although we could definitely see it fluttering on the ultrasound screen this morning.
Our next visit is February 5th. Not sure if we'll get to see our baby at that visit, although I am crossing my fingers! It definitely eases my worries to get to see our little baby!
