A Mother's Day Poem

I came across this and had to preserve it for posterity's sake.  I think it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired; 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

Isabella at 27 weeks...

Here's my latest update from Babycenter.com.  Pretty cool:

How your baby's growing:

This week your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?

We are blessed...

I've always known that Sean and I were truly blessed...but having a baby has really proven that to us.

We are truly blessed to have family and friends who care so much for us.  I've got a mom who has single-handedly stimulated the economy back to health just from her daily visits to Carters!  I have a dad who built (by hand!) a custom bassinet for Bella.  I've got a co-worker/friend who, as her gift to us, will be making our crib bedding and window treatment for Bella's nursery.

I've also got a sister and two best friends who are planning one heck of a baby shower, and two inherited friends (thanks, hubby!) who are throwing us a super fun co-ed shower.

And as if all of that wasn't enough, we've got a healthy, ACTIVE baby girl who is the very ultimate blessing!!

I thank God every night for the gifts in our life.  And if you are reading this, I count YOU as a blessing, too!

Daddy felt his daughter for the first time!

Sean was able to feel Bella kick for the first time last Thursday night!  We had tried several times before, but either 1) he got impatient and didn't want to wait for her anymore or 2) she would get performance anxiety and clam up!  But Thursday night she was VERY active and on our second try, she kicked hard enough for him to feel it.

His face lit up when he felt his daughter saying "hi"!  It was a wonderful moment.  He was also able to feel her on Friday night, too.  She's definitely becoming more active, and where I used to only feel her a few times a day (like clockwork), she pretty much moves all day, every day now.  I generally feel her every hour or two.  Sometimes it's just a little tap, and other times it's like she's boogying down in my belly!

I'm looking forward to what's to come.  I know that eventually it will become more uncomfortable but I enjoy feeling her move around inside of me!
