I am now 29 weeks pregnant.

All's boring in pregnancy land....

tick....tick......tick.......

....that is the ticking of the countdown clock to Feb. 27th. 9 days to go. This is torture!

Upper back is still kickin. I am sure that is going to be  a constant from here on out. Additionally, I am now getting over a nasty cold that got me last week. I guess I am just thankful at this point that it was not the flu.  I hope I can be spared that misery this season but there is a long time to go before we are officially out of the danger..and the ER is PACKED.

Ok, so this is really cool......Chad's cop friends have offered up all kinds of baby stuff for us!! His one friend said he just packed up his baby's crib (they had a girl) out in the garage, along with all kinds of other stuff like a baby monitor, bottles, etc...and then he told Chad that we could have it all if we wanted it. He and his wife were planning on one more but are not sure if it is going to happen so he said we could take it and then give it back if they did get a suprise! Sounds good to me!!! Then...his other friend today said that he has a really nice bassinett from his last baby that he has been wondering what to do with!! So we are going to check that out too! I just think it is really great we are even getting offers! That is really nice of them! I don't know as many people and most of my  girlfriends haven't had babies yet so this is really cool to me!  So we are thinking next Thursday (the ultrasound is next Wed) we are going to go check things out...and maybe even shop for a few new things too!

Other than that, need to take another belly pic. But I don't think much has changed so we've been lazy. I got one hairy linea nigra going on there though.  Actually, I've got some pretty good hair issues all around now. Shaving has become a two razor blade ordeal now. I feel like I need a weedeater instead! Gotta love hormones!

I am getting really impatient now though and really want to start feeling some action in there. When we use the doppler little munchkin' is practically breakdancing in there so jeez you'd think I'd feel something!

Oh---and I cried like three times today already. One was while watching the end of "Parenthood" (ok, that's a given-I luv that movie), one was while looking at pictures of my Dad (another given), and one was during a diaper commercial !!(not so given...what is that about? LOL) I was completely gushing by the end of Parenthood.....ha ha.

AND..my weight is only 161.2 today! HA! Of course, some of that is extremely temporary weight loss r/t acute illness but hey, I'll take what I can get. Any halt in the progression of fatness is very much appreciated! So I think that means I haven't gained any weight for over a month or so! GO ME!

And all of you who haven't put in your vote for the sex already....get to it! We will know before you even make up your mind! The link is in my last journal entry!!

Ta-Ta for now! oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxo

Not a lot to report....

Boobs are growing again. No big suprise. Time for a new bra. An "E" bra.  As a result, back hurts. But upper back this time.

Migraines are getting worse. I have always had hormone-induced headaches so it is no suprise this is getting worse now. They are the kind of headaches where nothing helps. But Tylenol does work sometimes..But I suppose I should be thankful that I am not like some people who have to lay in a dark room and experience non-stop vomiting. But I feel like I have a migraine just lying in wait, pretty much at all times. Like even the slightest sprint down the street will make my head explode but if I don't exert myself or get stressed, I am just mildly uncomfortable. I wake up in the night with them too, for some reason they are worse then.

And I am getting a little "rounder". Belly pic to come soon.

But other than that.....pretty darn good!!!   A little nausea here and there but really only if I get too hungry or go too far back with the toothbrush.  And energy wise? Some days I feel like I have boundless energy and then the next day I'll wake up and feel like I have been run over by a truck. Very strange. I attribute all that to hormone swings I suppose.

My weight has stabilized. At least it had a week ago. I haven't stepped on the scale yet this week! But last week...I hadn't gained in a few weeks! Shocker!

NO baby movement yet. Not even gas that could be confused with movement. Hopefully pretty soon. The doppler reassures us everyday though. Hearbeat is still in the 150's, consistently. And we can find it now in less than 30 seconds and a teaspoon of gunk.

So, I also have a pretty prominent linea nigra already (that's the line down your tummy). Mine even starts at my boobs and goes all the way down! I am really not suprised by this since I had weird splotches on my face when I was on the Pill. but the internet says this means I am having a boy, since the line starts at my xiphoid process. I don't believe in old wives tales, of course, but for some reason I am getting boy vibes from this pregnancy. Everyone else thinks girl so the suspense is on!

So now we are just WAITING! ...and waiting....and waiting.......for Feb. 28th! That will be my ultrasound and my doc appt (not like you guys don't know that by now). We got our new camera from my grandpa (THANK YOU!!!) so maybe we'll be able to film the ultrasound experience! Whoopee!

Check in later! Love you all!

It's official: We don't like my OB

Well, the appointment was very uneventful like we suspected but both Chad and I were both really dissapointed again in the treatment we received. This is the first time this pregnancy I have even seen my actual doctor and not the NP's and he couldn't have seemed to care less!!. He plasters on this huge shmoozy smile when he comes in and gives me a hug and Chad a handshake and then practically pushes me back onto the table. He talks so fast, barely coming up for air, not even saying anything important. He doesn't ask me how I've been feeling, what are our concerns?, what we can expect from here on out, NOTHING. He pushed me back on the table, whipped out some tape measurer from nowhere, measured me and listened for the heartbeat with the doppler. He couldn't find it, but found the strong placenta so apparently that was enough for him because he did not even offer the ultrasound. (BUMMER!!!!). He just said he wasn't worried because I was measuring right on and the placenta was working. He didn't say a word about my weight or my blood pressure. I just can't believe that. Both Chad and I don't think he even looked at it. Oddly though, my blood pressure was 122/72 in the room on their machine. Then Chad took out ours to compare and it was 146/92 on ours..the one it has always been lowest on. So WHO KNOWS! I guess from here on out I am not going to care unless someone else cares???? We are just very dissapointed in their lack of showing personal concern or even explaining tests/procedures...anything. He threw a script at me when he left and I said "what is this for" and he said "the second trimester ultrasound". I had to inquire further for him to finally tell me that is where they will look for abnormalities/defects, check growth, and LOOK FOR THE SEX!!! Woo hoo!

So, Chad and I are so relieved we rented our doppler or else we'd be really worried...again. Tonight we will check little munchkin for ourselves!  We were even talking about switching OB's we dislike him now so much. But that is so much work. And I am so lazy. Besides, we'll be lucky if he gets there in time to even catch the baby!! But I did forget to ask a few questions I had wanted to ask, simply because you are afraid to! He is in such a hurry. He was in the room all of 5 min, maybe less. Oh well.

Next Appt: The BIG ULTRASOUND: February 27, 2008. Less than a month away!! The countdown begins! Cast your vote: Will it be pink or blue???????
