Baby has arrived!

2006-10-12 (35 weeks)
So tired...
Sleeping is a nightmare.. I have had the hardest time sleeping well for the last 2 nights. Between insanely terrible heartburn and having to get up every 2 hours to pee.. gah.. It's not cool, man. Me and John fell asleep on the couch last night at around 8:30. We're so lame. =/ Oh, yea, not to mention the weird period cramp/sharp pain thing that appeared like 3 times last night and woke me up. If that's what contractions feel like, I think I'll pass. o.O

Baby Boot Camp

So, it's been a little while since I've posted a blog, huh? I suppose I'm just lazy and lame and numerous other excuses..

First of all.. a couple of pictures from Tennessee. Just one of me and one I snapped of John in his blues, because, well.. he's hot :)

John and I went to the Daddy's Baby Boot Camp/Mom's Basic Training last week. It was actually fun. We both learned alot and I'm glad we decided to go. Sure, it was a lot of videos and lectures, but it was way informative. I'm glad we didn't skip it. Besides, I would have missed out on these fun photo opportunities..

(They hadn't found the smock yet, so he had to hang with boobs out on his turn). Anyway, yeah, we really liked it. It actually made me want to hold off on drugs as long as I can. I'd like to actually feel what's going on and go through the whole process with John like the women on the videos.. Until, of course, I can't take it anymore.. then bring on the epidural! But, I want to try just breathing through things and moving around as long as I can before being tied down to the bed b/c I can't feel my legs.. Everyone keeps telling me I won't be able to handle it long at all, but I really want to. Wish they'd all just tell me they hope I can do it how I want and that I'm not weak and just wish me luck.. But, ah well. I guess since I've never really felt real pain they just assume there's no way I can handle it.. I hope so, though.

I have my 36 week appointment on Monday and she said since she's got to do the Groub B Strep Test that she'll go ahead and check my cervix and all that just to see where I'm at if I'm curious. I think I'll ask her to.. Just cuz. Even though I know it's gonna hurt like crazy LoL

34 Weeks Appointment!

I had to go to the dr. on Monday. It wasn't really anything special. She did say the baby felt head down now, though, which is great since he was breech at our ultrasound. (I figured he was since he keeps ramming his rear end into my tummy.. it's so weird to see the little mountain appear out of nowhere.. it does hurt occasionally, though). She made me get my thyroid tested again since it had been forever since they'd done it. They also went ahead and made the rest of my appointments while we were there. We only have 3 more before my due date.. o.O That really put things in perspective.. It's just around the corner and we're (I'M) not even remotely ready. I'm actually beginning to get really nervous..

We also had our Labor & Delivery tour while we were there. They walked us all around the hospital (which, trust me, sucked w/ swollen feet) but the rooms were nice and they said all 17 Mother/Baby rooms are private, so John can definately stay w/ me. I was worried about that, but they said they WANT them to stay. Everything looked good, though, so I don't think I'll hate where I am while I give birth. Then we filled out the paperwork to register so we don't have to worry about it when I go INTO labor. Overall it was pretty cool. It just made us realize it's coming soon, like I said. We need to pack. ~sigh..

That's all.. LoL Just thought I would update & give a little info on all that's been going on lately.

First hospital trip

So, we had our very first panic-y rush to Tripler this morning. I was bleeding a substantial amount and the Labor & Delivary nurse said to come right away. So, here we go to the hospital. I naturally had to call my mom to let her know what was going on and she semi freaked on me. Because, well, we didn't know what was going on, so pretty much all I could tell her was 'we're on our way to Tripler..Why?.. because I'm bleeding.' o.O Not cool at all. Poor John was freaking out. But, taking into account the scenario in which we came to notice the bleeding was a bit awkward. We were doing the sex thing when he happens to look down and begins to freak right then and there. Cuz it was quite a bit.. So, then of course he's blaming himself for hurting me. And the fact we had no idea what was happening and the only thing I knew (b/c my doctor tells me nothing apparently) to be happening if you start bleeding is you're going into labor and well, 31 weeks is quite a bit to early for that. So, he was really scared.

Anyway, so we get to the hospital and they take me into an exam room & hook me up to a fetal monitor for a good 30 minutes. He had the hiccups for the first 15, so it made it hard to keep his heartbeat steady to be read. Anyway, so then the dr. comes back in and does an exam (which for some reason was VERY painful.. which leads me to believe there's no way in hell I'm going to be able to get through birth).. Sort of freaks me out. But, he says cervix is still closed and was probably just 'trauma to the cervix' where it's so sensitive when you're pregnant. So, apparently it's common to make it bleed? No one felt the need to mention that to me, though.. But, said just to monitor it and unless my water breaks or it randomly starts again or I start having contractions that there's no need to worry about it.

No more sex LoL
