Baby has arrived!

2008-04-24  (34 weeks)
quick update......

I am SO tired and just want to go to sleep, but wanted to update on today's doctor visit. Everything is fine - Brianna's heart beat was strong and she is in the 75th percentile for her weight.

I showed the doc all the lovely, red itchy bumps on my neck, face & belly and she said it's just from being pregnant. LOVELY. Only thing I can do is take Benadryl. Woo hooo.

I am either going to be induced at 37 or 39 weeks (granted Brianna doesn't decide to come on her own in the meantime) .. if I am induced at 37 weeks, she wants me to have an amniocentesis to see if Brianna's lungs are matured enough. At 39 weeks that won't be necessary... so no decision was made on the exact time of induction.

All I know, is that I really really can't be pregnant for much longer, or else I am going to have to be put in an insane asylum. Of course I am kidding - 37 weeks is only 2 weeks away, and 39 weeks is only 4....... but every day is getting harder and harder, and I really can't take much more of this

*Brianna, know that Mommy loves you more than anything and I know this will all be worth it in the end to have you here with us.... but I need this to be over SOON*

sonogram

Today's sonogram went well - we were in and out which is always good. Brianna weighs about 5lbs 6oz and is doing great! She is an active little girl, that's for sure. She always pokes me in the same spot. I was hoping that she was head down, but she isn't. Her head is under my right ribs and her butt is above my pelvis. I really don't think she is going to flip .. it's just my gut feeling, and being that I am pretty small framed myself, I don't really think she has much room to even turn around.

I am sooooooooo ready to not be pregnant anymore. My belly has definitely dropped, and I feel like I'm walking differently. Lots more pressure down there... and it ain't comfortable. I'm exhausted and tired of feeling so freakin big (big for me anyways - I'm almost 150lbs, my pre-pregnancy weight was 123lbs). I know I'm going to lose the weight no problem, but I'm so sad when I see all my cute clothes and all the summery tops I am longing to wear. It's getting depressing wearing my wardrobe that consists of sweatpants and black leggings, and boring shirts.

Also, I'm going to be on IV antibiotics for another week - so until next Thursday. Just in time to come off for the baby shower at our place! Kenny's mother's shower was last weekend and it was great - we got so many nice things and her room is almost all set up! I'm so excited, it's really looking so cute and I have all of her clothes and blankies washed and ready for her .

Soon she will be here .. can't waittttttttttttt!!

4 more weeks!

I had an appointment today with my ob/gyn and everything with me & Brianna is going well - and she said that she wants to induce me at 37 weeks! I will be 33 weeks pregnant this Sunday, so that means I'll be having Brianna in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited, nervous & ready to not be pregnant anymore! I'm still on I.V. antibiotics because I'm still feeling like crap and coughing so much to the point that I throw up sometimes - but I'm trying to do things and keep myself occupied so I don't think about how crappy I feel (does that even make sense?) Hopefully another week of I.V. and I'll be good enough to come off it.

My doctor said today that she also feels that me having a vaginal delivery would be better than an elected c-section. She feels that because of my CF, that a c-section is pretty risky when it comes to the chances of infection and recovery... but if certain circumstances arise, and a c-section is necessary, then obviously I will have one at that time. Brianna is still in the breech position (hey, would u wanna be laying upside down for weeks? I don't blame her for staying upright haha) so hopefully she will turn within the next 4 weeks .. otherwise, if she doesn't turn, that alone is a reason to have a c-section.

Kenny and I start lamaze class tonight, and have it every Thursday night from 7-9:30 until May 8th.

Next week is a sonogram, so hopefully there will be more pics up of our little peanut!
