Baby has arrived!

2007-11-09  (10 weeks)
my beautiful baby

Yesterday I had my 10 week obgyn checkup .. I was exactly 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant, so I was there to hear the heart beat for the first time. They couldn't hear the heartbeat, it was all static sounding .. so they brought the little portable sonogram machine into the room and right when she put it on my tummy, we saw the baby & its heart beating so strong!! And OH MY GOODNESS .. the baby was bouncing around and moving it's little legs all over - the doctor goes, "you have a baby that likes to move a lot!" .. it was SO amazing to see .. and so weird knowing that's what's going on inside me right now. It actually looked like a BABY .. a head, arms, legs.. I am so speechless, that was one of the best moments of my life. To see it bouncing around and kicking up a storm in there, I hope he or she is comfy in there and is having fun "playing" hahaha. I love this baby so much already, it's crazy!!!

I go for some bloodwork on the 23rd of this month & another sonogram .. I will be 12 weeks during that visit. Then, I go back to my obgyn on the 29th which marks the 13th week (end of the first trimester) and have another sonogram done! So there will be a few new pictures coming veryyy soon!

I love love love my baby .. aka: My little monkey!!

finally

We are finally in our new place!! We LOVE it, it's so beautiful and so PEACEFUL!!! It's like we both have been given a breath of fresh air... Kenny is so much happier too, he doesn't have to take care of a crazy pit bull anymore & now he can actually enjoy life, come home from work and RELAX, and not be treated like a piece of crap/walked all over by his brother. Just an FYI: This is the last time I will ever be speaking of "the brother" - feels so good!

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note: I woke up this morning and my stomach feels sooo different - it feels more streched out and I feel something inside it - I used to just feel bloated but now I actually feel the baby I think .. not the baby moving, it's too early for that - but I definitely feel him or her in there. I'm inlove

30 things that change when you have a baby....

I had to post this .. I love it!

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your body ... finally.

5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily.

10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.

11. Every day is a surprise.

12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)

13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person.

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

From other mothers:

1. "You discover how much there is to say about one tooth."

2. "You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth."

3. "You now know where the sun comes from."

4. "You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shoes that you've been dying to have."

5. "You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers."

6. "You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night."

7. "Silence? What's that?"

8. "You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having."

9. "You discover an inner strength you never thought you had."

10. "You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule."

11. "You give parents with a screaming child an 'I-know-the-feeling' look instead of a 'Can't-they-shut-him-up?' one."

12. "Your dog — who used to be your 'baby' — becomes just a dog."

13. "You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late."

14. "You learn that taking a shower is a luxury."

15. "You realize that you can love a complete stranger."

10 weeks

Your pregnancy: 10 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.
