Baby has arrived!

6th Gift
really there's been more than 6... it's all in my pregnancy notebook.

Saturday we had my niece's 6th b-day party at the splash park by my sister's. Ada & Jea came too (they gave us a sample pack of rice cereal that doesn't expire until Aug 09. haha). that evening, my sis and her family gave us a Baby Mexx white, with pink & orange flowers sleeper...it's soooo cute. and 2 pairs of frilly pink and white Mexx socks.

DH bought me $120 worth of mat clothes and i bought the other $100 from Thyme... and then the next day, i spent another $100 cuz i needed pants to go with the tops i now had. it's bad, i know...but i really needed clothes as i was stretching all my pre-preggo shirts and only had one pair of jeans and one pair of capris i could wear (plus, black pants but they're more spring/fall/winter). so i'm happy i had some clothes to wear! i'm thinking these all need to last me until i have our little girl in Nov too. no more shopping for me! (aside from a dress for my cousin's wedding...possibly shoes...and a tankini...bras - later on too... and i still want to find capri jogging pants, and a cute tracksuit for when the big day arrives b/c i definitely want to be comfy coming and going (to/from the hospital)...okay, so a little bit more shopping. but i can't help it.

my sis, niece, nephew, my mom and dad all got to feel a kick from Syd yesterday :) yayyy! my niece tried on saturday, but baby stopped kicking. she was quite squirmy yesterday and this morning i've been getting a ton of movement too. at one point, i actually said "ow!" to myself. she must have got me pretty good. haha.

i slept great at my sis's...but last night sucked. DH had to videotape a concert and when he got home at about 11:30, i heard him downstairs. it was sooo hot upstairs too and my legs were soooo cramped. of course DH started snoring a lot again, so we both didn't end up sleeping well. i can't stop yawning this morning.

also, i've been getting a few dizzy spells since the weekend.

5th Gift
yesterday DH's bro dropped off 2 gift bags for us/Syd... we opened them after i got back from my parents last night. the first one is a cute, fairly large, yellow/orange/white stuffed giraffe that has velcro front legs which hold onto a soft yellow knitted blanket - very cute! the second is a Willow Tree statue "Cherish"...about "awaiting a miracle" and is a very nice statue of a pregnant lady. very thoughtful :)

i got an AWESOME sleep last night - no leg cramps!!! i didn't use my snoogle...so maybe i shouldn't have any sort of pillow between my legs. maybe that's what's been messing me up.... we'll see...

i feel like eating a swiss cheese, asparagus and turkey sandwich...kind of like the one i had in BAY. when DH and i went with my grandma to the fancy restaurant there. mmmm. hungie.

oh ya, i think i mentioned in an earlier journal that i've been getting chest pains... DH tells me it's probably heartburn. woo....hooooo. haha

------

DH just emailed me some crib bedding... awwww, he's looking :)  ...haha, but then he went on to send "better bedding"... star wars toddler bedding and crib bedding *LOL*

gushy jello
last saturday maybe...i think it was...DH put his ear up to my belly and was sort of shocked at the noise he heard. he said it sounded like something (the baby ;) moving around in there... or like smushing your hands into jello.
i was eating breakfast, and my tummy made that same noise i think - i'm pretty sure i heard the sound he was talking about...

my mom and i went to my cousin's shower, and b/c i didn't grab anything more than a bunch of strawberries and 2 of my grandma's date squares to eat, she got concerned that i'm not eating enough. i told her i had pizza before i got there, and i didn't know what was in any of the food at the shower so i was being choosy. my dad called me on monday too to tell me she's concerned...she must have gotten him concerned too, but i also tried to tell him that i'm always eating and i mentioned all the fruit and snacks i had sitting on my desk in front of me and what i planned to eat that afternoon. then last night, i called her and we talked for about 1/2 hr, and she mentioned again that she's concerned about my eating (she's just judging by those few hours at the bridal shower. haha...). i told her the doctor says i'm where i'm supposed to be weight-wise, and the baby's measuring where she should be. she wanted me to ask him if i was eating enough. i said, if i wasn't, i wouldn't be gaining weight and i wouldn't be where i should be (where i am right now). i think i got her to stop worry for the most part. she's gotta trust me. i've never been able to sit down and eat big meals...i'm more of a snack-all-day kind of person right now, and i'm great at it :)

after work yesterday, i went to see robin (owner of piercing place... my belly ring area i think is getting more infected...there's been dried puss, perhaps? it's all b/c i keep catching it on things). anyway, she told me not to use Polysporin like my doc said, but to use Bactine...it's an antiseptic. and she recommended that I do something i was thinking of doing already...take the beads off and put medical tape on the ends. so that's what i've done today and last night. pretty ugly, but i need it to heal. i also said i wanted a tattoo patch over top of it and she said no b/c i need to let the air get at it. I don't like not having the beads on the ends though so DH is going after work tonight to grab me 2 smaller ones.

i called in sick today as i have a bit of a headache and i'm tired and last night was just horrible. DH went to bed before me, which is ALWAYS a bad idea cuz he snores and it took me FOREVER to fall asleep. finally, i'm sleeping, and at 1am the phone rings! it's his work, with a stupid problem that someone ended up fixing anyway after DH already got there (someone from CHT sent a corrupt file). so while he was gone, my legs were in pain...all crampy, and cracking. i FINALLY get comfortable and DH comes home, and sits on the bed to get changed (well, our bed isn't one with separate coils so of course i end up moving when he sits down)...and i can hear him take off his watch...and stuff out of his pockets. then he bounces into bed and pulls the covers up which messes up my comfortable position...so i'm left trying to uncramp my legs once again and get comfy all over again. finally i'm somewhat comfy and his snoring begins... I'm sooooo tireddddd.
i think i got an hour or two of sleep last night...MAYBE three... mostly before the phone rang.
then this morning, i took puppy out...she was ultra cuddly/sucky cuz had poop stuck on her bum when she came back in and DH was awesome and cleaned it off. then while i was in the shower, she remained in the bathroom with me, laying on the mat...i went to get out of the shower and she had barfed on the mat. again, DH was awesome and cleaned it up for me. no complaining...just did it :) he really is awesome. i went to put my shirt on after my shower...couldn't get it past my chest. it was stuck, haha, and i had DH help me take it off... yesterday i had to put away my beige capris too as i can no longer do those up. as annoying as it is, it makes me happy at the same time, cuz i know i'm growing (a little bit of everywhere though *L* as DH had pointed out to me a couple days ago... pfff)... i have to keep loosening the clasps on my bras too!
i had a dream last night too that i was getting saggy areas around my belly ring...all b/c my sis told me on the phone last night that her belly button was never the same after she had her two kids. last week i had a dream that i could see both of baby's hands...the imprints from in my belly...that was a cool dream. the hands were so cute.
she's kicking me this morning...it makes me happy :)
anyway, gonna eat a plum... yawn... and throw on the tv i guess.
my niece's b-day party is this weekend so i have gifts to wrap...hopefully she's still into littlest pet shop cuz i guess she goes through phases with those things. we bought them a couple months ago so...  and i have laundry to do today too...and i wanted to hit the grocery store. (speaking of HIT and GROCERY STORE... some loser lady dented my mom's car at the grocery store last night and lied about it and took off. people are retarded. it sucks to have to spend money on something that's not your fault)

oh ya, i'm still debating the cord blood thing... i really want to do it... it's just sooo expensive. maybe we could put our garage sale money towards it (if we ever get around to having one *L*)

also, 2 days ago and a bit today, i've been getting chest pains on my left side. is it stress? i don't feel like i have much to stress about... hmmm...

5th Prenatal
so this appointment went really well, and FAST! the fastest appt i've ever had there i think! my appt was at 9:45 but i think i was 5-10 mins early. i went pee after i signed in and then sat in the waiting room (which was pretty full!) for MAYBE 2 minutes, and my name got called. i just turned and looked at the girl like - are you serious? haha. so i weigh between 107 & 108... i think they wrote me down for 107, and said i've gained 13 lbs and that's where i should be... i'll gain more in the last 12 wks apparently. anyway, i was out of there at 10am! quick!

i asked my doc about:

- date i should leave work (everything's on schedule for Nov 2 :)
- sex of baby (yep, had to put on my lie-face :(  but he confirmed it's a girl :)
- leg cramps (he showed me stretches to do...it's the bones...starts with an "S" - above my gluteus maximus i think...and they expand so i can grow and get ready for baby to come.
- blurry vision = migraine (he said that sounds right, what i had since i had a bit of a headache too...but then i napped and i felt better)
- belly ring (i was so sad this morning, thinking i would have to remove it today cuz the bottom is a little red... and i asked if it was infected. he said a little at the bottom, but doc said to put polysporin on it. i said, you can do that? he said yep and it won't hurt the baby...i don't need antibiotic ointment or anything so. he also said i have a lot of growing to do and will probably need to get a longer belly ring or my beads will just pop right off eventually! haha. he also said i may need to put a pad over it so i stop getting it caught.
- deet - safe at 30% or less (30% is safe for a 2 month old)
- halibut (bad that i ate some? i said i've had about 3 meals and they were kind of spread out... he said he wouldn't worry about it)

my uterus measures 19 1/2 cm, and the top is just above my belly button - where it should be he said. he listened to baby's heartbeat with his stethescope and said it sounded good. all the tests that we've had (blood, urine, u/s, etc) have come up negative which is very good :)

i don't get to see him anymore till after the baby's born... my next appt is with my OBGYN and July 17, and i'm bringing DH. haha ;)

so i'm back at work and....

i've already taken a few bites of rhubarb cake that my coworker made for me... i've searched "rhubarb pregnant" and guess what....

Concerning oxalic acid in general, in rhubarb stalks it occurs mainly in the outer parts which is why rhubarb is best peeled. It is furthermore recommendable to add dairy products such as yoghurt, curd cheese or cream to rhubarb meals or to consume dairy products together with rhubarb. By doing this you prevent the body from being deprived of calcium without substitution through the absorption of oxalic acid. Diabetics, rheumatics, people suffering from gout and those with kidney stone and gallstone disease possibly need to restrict their consumption of rhubarb. Likewise pregnant and nursing mothers as well as infants should only consume small amounts of rhubarb. Finally, one needs to bear in mind that unlike the stalks, the leaves are generally poisonous and thus inedible.
