08-08-08 today is the coolest day of the century (08-08-08)... and it started out perfect! i had an AWESOME sleep last night! it was cool out so we had the windows open, and there was such a nice breeze. DH was a little cold, but he mostly slept without the comforter, until i put it on him at about 4:30am when i woke up to pee and stretch my legs. i was content at that time too... if i didn't fall back asleep i would have been fine with it. i did fall asleep though...at about 5:30am and woke up to my alarm. there was a noisy truck outside though (not sure how i know this!) and it made me have a dream about a really huge tornado. i think Sydney even slept well last night too. when i was awake at 4:30 i felt a few little bumps but just like she was stirring in her sleep or something... I can imagine, can't i? this morning at breakfast she was moving a lot too (i've been doing the counting thing for the last 2 days too and she's been passing ;) and at one point there was another bulge on my right side. i had DH feel it... it was like a hard spot in my belly. i really think she wants back rubs *L* (okay, maybe not...but?)
anyway, gotta work :)
wish me luck for tonight's draw ;)
Syd did more squirming this morning at work today.... and she made the bulge in my belly again (right side of course!). it's really cute...i feel like i'm so close to actually holding onto her when i hold my belly :)
oh ya, yesterday i got my friend Nat's message - she's having a BOY!!!! :) and it's funny cuz she said that our kids can date! i had said that to DH a while back too - just jokingly, b/c i had a feeling she's having a boy :) i can't wait to pick up some cute items for him.

stronger kicks and funny pokes she did the same thing to me last night (on the right side below my belly button), as she did yesterday - keeping her foot poking out in my belly - at 2am. i woke DH cuz i wanted him to feel it. and then she kept kicking in the same spot so i had to get up and move around cuz i felt like i was going to bruise *L*... and then i just had this bulge on the one side, like she was trying to get a back rub or something. i've been awake since 1:30 this morning. sleeping on my left side sucks. i don't know how i'm going to be able to do this for 3 more months! sometimes i wish there was a hole in m mattress for my left arm to fit comfortably b/c it just goes numb from having to stretch it out.

lots to write about - MORE GIFTS TOO (x 3) this goes back to last thurs...

Bri and Mar came by and brought some gifts for Syd. the card was really funny too - Bri drew sperm that were like Star Wars ships going after another ship that is the egg. They got her 2 pairs of no-scratch mittens (green & white), 2 soothers (Bri said blue and purple b/c those are the colours of mara-jade's (star wars...yes...) light sabers), a sleep positioner, matching orange hat and bib, and a green whale bib. i think all those were on our registry except maybe not the mittens...? but i'm sure they'll come in handy too!
DH also had his lawyers appt earlier (2:30pm i think?) and he couldn't help him...not sure if i mentioned that in the last entry or not.
Oh and i think i hit 110 lbs on my scale today!! meaning really 114 lbs.
fri Aug 1
went for dinner - Mic (in town to pick up her mom), DH and i. after we dropped her off, we went to toys r us and found a stroller we liked and added it to our registry...even though we knew no one would likely get it for us as my parents already bought us a crib (and conversion kit) and we just don't want to expect people to spend that much on us! DH also scanned in a mobile he liked, and i felt bad cuz i didn't feel the same way about it...i thought it should match the bedding - which we don't have picked out yet...so we had the girl take it off :( sorry DH.
sat Aug 2
exactly 3 months away from our due date!!! i don't even remember what i did on this day. haha.
i think today i hit 111 lbs on our scale today - meaning 115 lbs!

went shopping in LON with my mom. finally found a pair of comfy black sandals - first store we went to. also spent $60 on a pair of capri jogging pants and 2 t-shirts (that store is wayyyy too expensive!). mom found a polo shirt for golf and some cute plaid shorts, but didn't end up finding a dress for my cousin's wedding. we went to baskin robin's and i had REAL peanut butter and chocolate ice cream (not that substitute stuff they have around here that doesn't have the peanut butter slices in it!) and of course i feel sooo guilty eating it, but it was sooooo gooooood. and then we met my dad at pizza hut when we made it back in town. DH had been working on his website stuff...learning PHP on his own. he's doing that all weekend...which is a real bummer.
mom told me too that dad wants to see Syd have a new mattress (we were going to possibly take my sister's friends' mattress as it was barely used and she's a very clean person) and they bought my sis the crib, the drawer for the crib, and the mattress, so he wanted to "make it fair"... i said they don't have to do that, but they don't listen *L*... DH and i really appreciate all their help.
mon Aug 4
went for a walk with the puppy today...just down a couple blocks. not feeling so great afterwards... i ended up removing my wedding band & engagement ring as my fingers felt warm and the rings felt tight.
tue Aug 5
i have today and tomorrow off.
my dad stopped by to drop off another gift from my grandma - a blanket (on a cute little hanger) that matches the same fabric as her housecoat and hat that she got for her already, and a set of 3 yellow sleepers. my grandma wasn't feeling too good - she was having another "episode" and when i called to thank her she said she was planning on packing up a bunch of gifts (every time she saw something/picked up something for Syd, she was going to keep storing them in a box) until later, but she was worried that she's not going to be around much longer. that's always sad to hear. i told her no, she's got a ways to go (and i guess she's feeling much better today - Aug 6).
DH & i made a trip out to Sears to pick up the "ticket" as our lawn mower broke last week and we drove to Sears on saturday cuz the guy on the phone said to bring it in and they'd ship it to LON. so we get there and someone else said to go to the guy down the street from us - they do all the repairs for sears' lawnmowers. so DH dropped off the lawn mower today and the guy at the store said sears was supposed to give him a ticket. pain in the butt. ANYWAY so we're at Sears and i forgot our gift cards cuz we were hoping to find the same stroller we saw at toys r us. AND we did find the same one...or VERY similar...same make, might be a slightly different model though...which will be too bad as the one at toys r us is $10 cheaper and sears is willing to price match. we'll be using our wedding gift cards though - $320 - so that will help us out huge. AND we saw a glider there (which i sat in while DH flagged someone down to help us) for $220 which includes the ottoman! so that's a pretty decent price considering toys r us had just the ottoman for over $200. it's a green one though with a light wood...which is okay, but if we ever move or have it in another room in the house, i think it might be smarter to get the off-white with the cherry wood, which they said they could order in for us (do i trust them?!). anyway, our plan is to go back tomorrow and pick up the stroller, order the chair, and create a registry (if our baby is born on the day we pick too, we'll get the equivalent of our registry items in gift card value...which would be freakin' awesome. i think she'll be born on her due date ;)... we also saw some crib bedding there that we are considering.
wed Aug 6
someone's kicking a lot today :) it's awesome. the coolest thing though is when i was laying down on the couch watching "a baby story" and this lady was in labour, Syd was kicking a lot so i had my shirt pulled up and i looked down and i see this "triangle" sticking out of my belly. i grabbed it :) haha i got your foot ;) the other day i thought it might be cool to get her kicking on video... something to try for anyway.
my dad stopped by again today... i had a feeling he bought Syd a mattress, and that's exactly why he stopped by. (he said "it's a cheap one"... which means he actually spent a lot on it!) He wiped down the crib (even though i was going to, but he wanted to *L*) and put the mattress in - fits perfect! it really feels like everything is coming together and makes meeting Syd seem so much more real and closer (3 months sure is a long time still though)
wow, i gotta hurry up... i'm hungry!
Then, my mom got back from golfing and i had told her this morning that if she was coming into town for anything, i'd like to show her the bedding we saw and kind of liked (i think i liked it moreso than DH, but he didn't mind it...and it's $150! wayyy better price...much more affordable. i told him this morning i think we should get it - i was actually thinking about it at 3am this morning and DH was awake but i didn't want to discuss anything then cuz i knew he wanted to go back to sleep.....- and he said it was up to me *L*...it's called "snug as a bug" and it's by Kidsline in California) So my mom called at about 1:30 and came into town... she liked the bedding too and told me they gave my sis $600 for their hotel upgrade when they go to florida and wanted to give us the same to help us out. so my mom bought the bedding, plus the dust ruffle, a fitted sheet, and the mobile...which all came to about $322, and wrote a cheque for us to pay for other things we need (she knows about the glider we were eying up). This is insane how much they're helping us, and DH and i are forever in debt to them. i don't know what we'd do without all their help...especially at a time like this where DH's job situation isn't the best and me going on mat leave in 3 months. i don't think we'll be re-doing any of our bathroom as we had planned, but i'm okay with it... we'll do what we can, when we can.
well, my brain is getting foggy b/c all i can think about is food! but i did register so we could include the bedding, etc on the "baby's due date guessing thing for the sears gift cards" and my mom found 2 dresses!!! YAYYY :) i was worried...i really wanted her to find a dress. great price too! one was $20 and the one she's wearing to the wedding was $30! can't beat that! and they're super cute dresses too...they look good on her. she also brought us some peaches and i had one and they're really good... i'm rambling now...gotta go! gotta eat! and then we're going back to sears tonight! *L*
bye! :)

thoughts so i'm bored at work and just wanted to write and say how crazy it is that after next week i'll be in my third trimester! we'll be in the home stretch baby! :)
i just went and got my license plate and driver's license renewed. $150 later... bleh. oh well, at least it's done. Syd was kicking as i was sitting in the waiting area :) not sure if anyone noticed! 2 of the ladies who work on this floor were saying that i look great (which i love to hear *L*) and the one said i was all in front and you couldn't even tell from the back (what was she lookin' at?! haha, just kidding) and she said i was "cute as a bug"... i said, a big bug :)
i'm going to LON with my mom this weekend and i'm REALLY hoping to find some comfy sandals. i feel like i'm going to get arthritis in my knees eventually too... every day i wake up and have to snap my legs and try to crack my lower back by moving my legs... yucky.
woohoo it's almost lunch time!! i'm looking forward to lunch, even though it's just a pb and banana sandwich but we're hungry ;)
every night after work i look forward to eating my fruit loops. it used to be captain crunch (which has pretty much no nutritional value. at least fruit loops has some!) i just realized i forgot to take my vitamin last night, for the first time :o( maybe i'll take one earlier tonight instead of just before bed.
