Baby has arrived!

2008-09-22  (34 weeks)
34 week Prenatal
everything went well again. weight: 123lbs (gained 3 lbs since last time), blood pressure's good, urine is good (so they say! haha), Sydney's heart rate was "about 160 bpm" - i said she must be wide awake this time and my doctor agreed. and my lovely uterus is measuring 32 cm ("baby's catching up" she said)...since i was 30cm at 32 weeks. i asked about episiotomies...she said she'd ask me if i wanted it done or not when the head is coming out...she'd let me know, especially if in some women's cases the "rectum is close to the vagina" and if it ripped, it would take longer to heal. i'm not saying that's my case, because no one knows yet, but i'm just writing stuff down. Also, DH mentioned about her rotation with other docs and the chances of having her. basically, i probably won't get her if i'm delivering on a weekend. during the week i'll have a better chance. there's only 5 docs in town and they're all on rotation.
anyway, gotta run, DH needs the computer...and it's belly picture time too!

5 more weeks of work!!!

Happy Anniversary to my parents!!! :)

quick notes
just got back from 2nd class - prenatal. did breathing exercises and could not do it without laughing (cuz i had to look at my husband and he was smiling)

had sharp pains on saturday while packing up the yard sale stuff. didn't like those...the pains were under my belly. pretty weird, but they went away after sitting for a bit.

Syd moves around a lot - it's awesome!

time for bed :) ...'night...

(busy week...too much stuff going on!)

2008-09-12  (32 weeks)
crave much?
so it's only 9am, and so far this morning i've already craved one of those flaky raspberry turnovers from the grocery store, a cheese bun, AND oven pork chops. do you think i'm hungry? this grapefruit might just not do it for me!

also, i should write about our first prenatal class (second part) we had on tuesday sept 9 (6:30-9pm). it was okay. same teacher as from the first part. different "classmates" though so that was nice...these ones are a little more mature! anyway, the teacher talked about cord blood and about the 4D ultrasounds...which, i wanted to do both but someone else doesn't... i think it's too late to do the 4D ultrasound though now :(

i still have to order our baby books... the website keeps running out of stock though, and the bookstore in the mall can't order them, even though it's from the chapters/indigo site (but it's a sponsor link... advertising for the competition i guess?)

last weekend i noticed too that i've fallen victim to stretch marks... did i write about those yet? even though i use Palmer's TWICE a day, and sometimes more! i even have a little red mark on my bum! what's with that? today i noticed though, that around my belly button...probably about 5 or so inches wide, i have stretch marks or something...almost vein-like and it looks like a butterfly! it's so weird. i'm so glad Mic got those belly pics of us done on Sept 1...before all the colours on my belly!

i must have slept good last night. i didn't wake up until 35 mins before my alarm goes off...and i had the world's longest pee. i was tired yesterday though... and kinda tired today, but we have our yard sale tomorrow... in the rain...?! and i have soooo much left to do. DH and i both. cleaning, carpet shampooing, grass cutting/hedge trimming, organizing, laundry (baby laundry! but the closet needs to be finished first)... i yi yiiiii.

anyway, gotta work!
mommy T (well, soon to be... ;)

32 weeks! prenatal today
wow, i can't believe there's only 8(ish) weeks to go!

saturday, i went to a few stores with DH...including the mall and my feet were in sooo much pain. the one pair of shoes i was going to wear felt too tight even before we left, so i put on my other pair, and apparently those were way too tight too! my feet killed. i had to hold DH's hand and sort of lean into it to walk half decent. i dreaded every store i needed to go into, and a few i just sat in the car. later that evening, my parents came over for dinner (actually they brought most of dinner - spaghetti sauce and garlic bread, and i just cooked the noodles!) and my mom had to go to wal-mart...so i put on my flip-flops this time and we went there and then back to the mall, and Aldo's where i found some shoes. they seem to fit a little more loosely then what i have. my feet did not go up a whole shoe size and they don't carry half sizes so... i didn't have much choice... but these ones felt much better...and they're wider. i typically have narrow feet.

sunday, DH and i got ready for our garage sale that's next weekend.

today, DH came with me to the prenatal (11:15 - 11:45ish)... here's how it went...
i weigh 120 lbs (my doc said i've gained 26 lbs total. i thought i was at 28, but i'm wrong *L* so just 2 more lbs to go cuz i've read that 28 lbs was the minimum for underweighters... although my doc was very happy with what i'm at right now, she said i'm where i should be, so i'm not going to force anything! not that i ever have)... i've gained 4 lbs since my last visit, 3 weeks ago.
my doc said i've just been "breezing through this pregnancy" (easy for her to say *LOL*... but considering what i COULD be going through, it's true)
my blood pressure is good. always good to hear.
I asked her about hiccups...mostly DH's concern. hehe... and she's said oh ya it's normal, and healthy
also, i mentioned my hands being sore in the mornings (if i sleep with them open, they're hard to close when i wake...and the opposite, if i sleep with them closed, they're hard to open when i wake) and my feet swelling too. she said it'll just get worse *L*...she's so honest but she's great. DH and i like her a lot. she said usually the feet go down a couple weeks after you deliver, but then hands could take months. wonderful! haha
i also asked about a doctor's note for my employers about my due date (which i thought it was sort of early right now, but when i was leaving the office, she wrote one for me anyway)
i measure 30 cm...which she said is close to where i should be (i'm guessing i should probably be around 32 cm...as the What to Expect book says whatever week you're at, you should be that many cm's) so i guess that's good.
Syd's heartbeat was at 140 bpm (doc said that's her resting heart rate... i said her hiccups must have worn her out ...she had hiccups right before doc walked in)... 120 - 160 is a normal heart rate. the doppler found her heartbeat in pretty much the same spot as last time too - below and just to the left of my belly button. and my doc said having hiccups  is a good way of telling where their chest is. she also felt for her head, and said she's probably head down (she felt her as being head down...she said you can tell because their head is a little ball), and she said her bum is probably "up here" and felt for where her bum was... i laughed. for some reason i thought it was funny *L* She said she was mostly to the left...so she must be curled right up and it must be her feet and knees that move on my right side...i usually get pointy/boney things moving around over there. haha. (the last few mornings too, i've woken up to a pointy thing sticking out just under or almost in my belly button! must be comfy for her?)

anyway, gotta run, i'm starving!!! by the way, Syd was VERY squirmy today!
and what a good girl, being head-down!

ah i can't wait to meet my little girl. everything is sooo strange but i'm sure it'll all feel completely like it was all meant to be once she's here.

So now i go every 2 weeks, and then after week 36 (i think she said - which is also the last test! group b strep) i go every week until i deliver our precious baby girl.

we have our first class, for the second part of prenatal classes, starting tomorrow - 6:30-9pm "bring a pillow!"

i'm also in the midst of finding a baby book. i found a super cute one that has everything in it i've been looking for, minus the hair envelope...but i'm sure we can find an envelope and glue it in under the "firsts" pages anyway. i just gotta get around to calling "Coles" bookstore.

okay, she's seriously hungry... i can tell by her squirming. (i really think she moves around a lot when she's hungry!!!) so i'll update more later...

g'night
