Weekly update
This week at work has been as stressful as the past few months - no change there.  I am so mis-suited for my position, but I have to ride it out until I get to go on Mat Leave,  I have a calendar on my desk and am literally counting down the days.
Friday night was fabulous!  I drove out to Aldergrove to see Alana for the first time since we got pregnant.  I surprised her with my huge belly. She was so happy for us.  I was so excited to share the new with her the past few months, but I wanted to wait to tell her in person.
This week in the pregnancy has been wonderful.  Our little lovie has been very active and reassures me he is doing well every time I feel his kicks.  That is one of he greatest feelings in the world.  Even Tolga got to feel him moving on occasion.
This week I've experienced Braxton Hicks for the first time.  I tell ya, that can make a girl pretty nervous. With my history in consideration, I dread early labour.  Anton was born at 32 weeks and Melike at 19, so it's understandable I would be nervous, but I try real hard not to let anyone know Im anything less than confident.
I have missed Tolga this week, we have both been busy all week and had no time together - until today!  I was up at 530am, but stayed in bed until 8 to be with my honey.  Then we got up, and headed out for some Sunday baby shopping.
We bought 14 receiving blankets, wash cloths and several NB sleepers!  YAY.  This evening we ordered the Sealy Posturpedic crib mattress from Babies R Us online.
What we need now in the stroller/car seat from Sear and the breast pump, then anything else is bonus.  Alana said a baby swing is a must-have, so we're looking for a 2nd hand one.
I am so excited.  I am so in love with my little baby - I look forward to meeting (him), but I pray he stays snug in my bod until 36 weeks.
Healthy mommy, healthy baby, healthy delivery.

Sunday Shopping
Sunday was a great day.  Tolga and I spent the whole day together and it was a real fun day.  We slept in and then were treated to several kicks from our baby.
I took Tolga to the Tomahawk for brunch.  It's a North Shore landm rk and he had never been there before.  He had Eggs Florentine and I the 1/2 French toast.
Anton was with Nonna and we decided to let him hang out there a little longer so we could go do some window shopping.
We wanted to check out the stroller we are getting (Quinny travel system from Sears) and the Sealy crib mattress from Babies R Us. We his Brentwood Mall Sears - they had nothing, so we decided to boldly venture Metrotown - on a Sunday !?!
The mall wasn't that bad.  We his Sears, Babies R Us and Zellers.  We walked out of the mall with a very full bag of goods.  We bought BOA-free bottles (3), 3 glass bottles, silicone nipples, 7 cloth diapers, diaper inserts, a bottle rack, bottle brush and pacifiers.  It was a fun trip.
After all that shopping we were thirsty so we bought a Pomegranite smoothie @ Orange Julius.  That made us realise we were hingry - so we hit Komei Suc=shi and shared a few (pregnancy-safe) rolls.  MMMM - I LOVE sushi!
We returned to the North Shore around 5pm, went to get Anton from Westridge, had a quick visit with Nonna and Nonnina, then returned home - EXHAUSTED!
It  was so much fun shopping together for our baby.  It was the first time I felt relaxed enough to buy items we need.  I guess as more time passes in this pregnancy the more confident I am growing that things may just be ok.
What is more valuable than that.

Daddy & Baby bond
This morning Daddy and I got to sleep in.  It was so nice - we woke up slowly around 730am... I LOVE SUNDAYS! During the week we're up at 5am for work, so it's a real treat to get to stay in bed until a decent time.
We decided not to get out of bed and just enjoy the warmth of each other and the comfort of our bed.
As were were lying Daddy started talking to Baby in Turkish (he wants our children to know Turkish - good luck Daddy!)
Baby was active and for the first time daddy got to feel his kick 3 solid kicks against his hand. After each kick Daddy said " Good boy, kick again" and within 10 seconds we were treated to another strong kick around my bellybutton.
What a wonderful way to start our day!

2008.Jan.31st
Today I returned to work after taking 2 days off sick.  I had a fever for over 24 hrs and my greatest concern was that my Angel was safe and healthy.  There is no medicine that is safe to take when pregnant, so I am riding this out.  I am still congested and sound terrible, but I was able to get through my shift at work this morning.  I came home, made some lunch and started the dishes.  I've been on the sofa for the past 2 hrs playing on the lao=top trying to find a good Pregnancy Journal - this may be it.  I wanted to try and document the remainder of my pregnancy with Angel.  I think I'll get Anton or Daddy to take a few pics this evening as well.  As much as I hate to have my bod photographed - it may be cool to look back on in 10 years.
Much love to my Angel.
Here's praying for Healthy mommy, healthy baby, and a good (on-time) birth.
