Hi everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know whats happening.

We went for our 20 week scan last Wednesday - baby is fine, it was sooooh cute, playing with its toes, and opening and closing it's mouth as if it was talking to us. The pictures on the screen were completely amazing, so clear, you could see everything (apart from the sex we gave the sonographer strict instructions about no close ups on that area!).

The heart was working fine, and it had a full tummy with wee in it's bladder so apparently everything is working ok.  It is now around 25 cms long in total - but curled round in the foetal position most of the time apart from when it decides to move around and kick me lots!

It's "awake" pattern seems to have changed, it still wakes up around 6.30 for around an hour or so, but then moves mid morning as well, then its very active all evening, from around 7.30 till 9.00, then when I get into bed around 10.30 till when I fall asleep.  I can feel the shape of it even more now and keep feeling feet and either a head or bottom!

I have absolutely loads of energy - I cant believe how fantastic I feel and I absolutely love being pregnant! I'm still not overly mumsy but am feeling real love for my little one, and now cant wait till it arrives, I actually looked at some toys the other day with a small amount of interest!!!!

The nursery is nearly done, we just have to put up the black out blind and shelf, and tie back hooks, then collect the rest of the interior stuff and pram after christmas. Craig has been working so hard, it took him hours and hours to put the furniture from Mamas and Papas together, he has been working since last thursday night and all weekend!

I am showing quite a bit now, and no longer look podgy but pregnant (although I may start to look podgy all the food I am putting away!!)

Hi everyone, sorry for the huge delay in writing, things have been really mad and I dont seem to have had five minutes to sit down and write, also I am taking advantage of all this new found "second timester" energy and catching up on things and going out and about a bit more!

We went to see the midwife a couple of weeks ago and Craig and I heard the heartbeat, she said she may have trouble finding it, but there it was there straightaway thumping away really quickly!!!  We will be trying our own baby heart listener this weekend as it says you can use it from 20 weeks and I will be that next Wednesday.

More (very exciting) news is that I started getting baby tickles a few weeks ago - at the start of November, and the 20th November was the first time I felt the baby properly. I thought it might be wind but it happened the next day at the same time, and even stronger by the wednesday!  From this Monday it has been kicking so strongly, especially in the morning before I get out of bed and when I crash out on the sofa after dinner in the evening.

Craig felt it for the first time last Saturday and couldnt believe how strong it was! Monday night was terrible though, it kicked the whole night and I hardly got any sleep, then Tuesday night it was all over one side of my bump making me look deformed! Craig put his hand on the lump and we could definately feel a head, then it completely shifted and gave Craig a fright!  I was feeling a bit emotional that night, cos of the lack of sleep on the Monday night and then all the movement was starting to hurt, but its fine now, I think it learnt that it made it's mummy cry with all that kung fu in the womb!!

I now feel it all the time, it shifts periodically throughout the day on and off and the moment I sit down and relax it wakes up, it will probably be excited tomorrow as we are going to order all the nusery furniture and accessories and the pram. I cant wait to start on the nursery and get it looking nice. We have already bought the curtains and tie backs (and a few all in one outfits as we had some vouchers to use) but I cant wait to get it all kitted out and looking lovely. Our theme means it will be fine for a boy or girl, but we are definately not going to find out the sex of the baby at the 20 week scan next week, both of us want it to be a surprise.

Well I had best get on, got to measure the nursery to make sure the furniture will look ok, then off early tomorrow to put most stuff on order!

(plus really I want to go and have some food cos I am completely obsessed with it at the moment, even Craig knows that food is now my first love!!!!!)
