Baby has arrived!

2008-05-07  (36 weeks)
36 Weeks/9th OB appt.

Where has time gone???  Hard to believe that I now have less than a month (hopefully) until Camryn is here!  Seems like only yesterday that I was sharing the GREAT news with all!

Prestin graduated from his Sibling Class on Saturday!  It was really neat to see him practicing changing diapers, feeding the baby and wrapping the baby in a blanket (swaddling).  He seemed to enjoy it and perhaps is feeling a little more confident in his big brother skills!

Swelling in my feet has increased.  I guess that is really my only gripe, and today they are particularly painful.  I will see my OB this afternoon, so I will update on my progress later.

I guess we are all set for baby now.  Nursery is done, stocked with the essentials.  I have packed my hospital bag, for the most part, and the diaper bag is set.  I guess we are ready - just waiting for her arrival!

Only 13 days of work left (but who's counting) and 28 days until the estimated due date!

OB appointment went well.  Blood pressure and urine were fine.  Weight is getting up there!  LOL!  I gained another 6 pounds over the last two weeks and it is all apparently fluid build up in my legs, ankles and feet!  Doctor is not worried as I have no other symptoms of pre-e, but now that I am being monitored weekly I feel better!  Baby's heart rate was in the 140's.  I had the culture taken for Strep B, and we will go over those results next week.  I am 1 cm. dilated and 50% effaced at the present time and the OB was able to feel Camryn's head!!  looks like we may not make it until June after all!!

2008-04-30  (35 weeks)
35 Weeks

Only 35 days left????  Oh my goodness.....

I started packing the hospital bag over the weekend.  Got the diaper bag packed and ready to go, also.  Most of the baby clothes are washed and put away in drawers and hung up in the closet.  (And I am getting another baby shower Friday at work)!!

Feeling good, guess the antibiotics help to kill my sinus/ear infection and curb the bronchitis before it could REALLY kick in!  Still sleeping good, for the most part.  I sleep well for about two hours straight (three hours on a REALLY good night) before waking to use the bathroom.  The swelling in my foot has gotten REALLY annoying as I can not fit in my shoes!  I spend the majority of my day barefoot (when I can)!  (My left foot is even making efforts to get as big as the right!  They are fine in the morning - but within a short amount of time they are big!

Other than that - keeping busy with Prestin's baseball.  We are in the middle of the mid-season tournament and getting ready for the next game, tomorrow night.  The Cubs are the number-one seed so they have had a great season so far!  I am actually hoping for rain this weekend, as the Championship game is scheduled for Saturday morning - at which time Prestin is scheduled for his sibling class.   We'll see how it all plays out....looks like rain Friday night - which could delay the game...which would work, too!

2008-04-23  (34 weeks)
34 Weeks/8th OB appt.

Hard to believe there is only 6 weeks left!  I am fighting off a sinus infection, as I type, so I am hoping to get some antibiotics when I see my OB this afternoon.  Had a busy weekend with Laurie, Kevin and Kaitlyn in town!  Had a GREAT time and enjoyed such things as the zoo, Opry Mills and the Grand Old Opry.  We had great weather throughout and managed to get in a few baseball (Prestin) games also!  Prestin received the gameball from a teammate on Friday night and the gameball from the coach on Sunday afternoon.

Camryn has been quite active, I am feeling her more and more as the room in there is shrinking!  I can often feel (and see) and elbow, knee or foot pushing up against me!  My swelling in my right foot/ankle has increased but I am thinking it is something I will just have to deal with.  Obviously getting a shoe on is a challenge, and I am down to only two pairs that I can wear!

OB visit went well.  Urine and blood pressure are fine.  Weight is good - with the total weight gain at this point being 31 pounds!  Dr. Thompson is pleased.  I am measuring 34 weeks and doctor believes Camryn is head down.  She said she will see me in another two weeks and then we will move to one week visits.  She is not concerned about my swelling, just advised to keep foot elevated whenever possible.  She also advised me to take Tylenol Sinus for my current sinus infection.  I was hoping for an antibiotic, but I will hang in there!!

33 Weeks

33 weeks and no news is good news!  I have had an increase in swelling this week, still ONLY in the right foot/ankle!  As ridiculous as it looks, I am well aware it could be worse!  Also, the heartburn is starting to really get to me at night, but I will survive!  The end result is worth it all, and I really have not had to deal with much!  Unfortunately the end is drawing near and I think I am really going to miss being pregnant!

On that note, I handed in my formal letter of resignation today.  May 23rd is officially my last day of work.  So, five more weeks.  I also received an email this afternoon that stated I was to be here on Friday, May 2.  (I knew this already - as I saw the "surprise shower" invitation email going around the office!  Not much gets by me!

Laurie, Kevin and baby Kaitlyn will be here tomorrow for a weekend visit!  I am so excited!
