I am now 30 weeks pregnant.

My point of view (from husband)

I can't believe it's true, my wife is really pregnant.  It was such a shock.  We hit the "jackpot" on the first try. I don't know if I've really accepted this as reality yet, I really praise God for this amazing gift.

The timing of our pregnancy is pretty funny.  Just last week, we were helping a friend of ours with their baby shower planning... not knowing that, in 7-8 months, we'll be having our very own shower.  During the past few days, my wife and I have been studying up on everything related to pregnancy (she's the true star... i feel kinda ignorant most of the time)... but i still can't get pass how amazing God's creation is... I don't think I'll ever understand or comprehend how "nothing" (single cells) can just turn into a living human being... While we were going through the week by week progress of a baby in a mother's womb, i'm dumbstruck at how much can happen in such a little amount of time...

Well, my wife and I had a consensus last night before bed... we've never really appreciated the miracle of life until this past week, when we first realized there's something living inside my her.  We've seen a bunch of people getting pregnant around us (both friends and family), however, we've never really appreciated it until now... in the past, all we thought about was what the baby would look like after it comes out... but we never thought about baby while it was in the womb....

God is truly amazing !!

i'm pregnant! :)

got the blood test result and it's positive with hCG at 104 mIU/ml... technically, i'm supposed to be "3 weeks and 3 days" but my gut feeling told me that it's older. and the hCG level confims that to be true since for 3 weeks LMP: 5-50mIU/ml, whereas 4 weeks LMP: 5-426mIU/ml. but since everyone goes by the Gestational Age rather than the Fetal Age, i guess i'll go by that as well. :)

both me and hubby are very happy and surprised. this is our first month trying and we couldn't believe it happened so fast! :)

on Monday, 11/5, i started having stomach cramp. i went to get a home pregnancy test kit since the box said "5 day sooner", i thought i could take it before my missed period day. i was quite curious and anxious at the same time since it's our first try! :) but still Monday was not even 5 days before my next period. so i decided to do it on Thursday morning. on Tuesday, i was still having cramps. Tuesday night, i thought about doing it a day earlier than planned. so it would be Wed. morning.

Wed. morning woke up around 4am and needed to go to the bathroom. since i didn't want to waste my first morning urine which should contain the most hormone, i took the test. since i was half asleep, i didn't know if i did it correctly by leaving it there for 5 sec. so i didn't expect it to be positive. both me and my hubby said that our gut feeling is no. but when i saw 2 lines (one fainter than the other), i woke my hubby up. i said "i took the test and it has 2 lines". he said "what??" and jumped right outta bed to witness it himself. after sitting around and wondering if it's real or not, i just went to take another one for the sake of it. this time my hubby helped me and the second line is alot darker this time. so we were quite positive that it's positive! :)

throughout the day, my mind has been working non-stop. so excited and worried at the same time. i wanted to see my Dr. right away but the clinic said that they usually don't see patient til 8-10 wks pregnant! i asked "then what should i do in the meantime?" i thought at least i needed a blood test to confirm. so i had to request taking a blood test to give me some peace of mind and more confirmation. i did wonder if i should stay with the healthcare provider and group. me and my hubby decided to ask my ex-coworker who referred me to this group and had her kids delivered by them. she reassured me that it's normal for them not to see patient til 8 weeks. and that she liked the group alot as well as the hospital she delivered her babies. so i decided to stay with this group of Dr. and have our baby delivered at the same hospital.
