The baby is kicking! My 5th month of pregnancy is proving to be the best month so far. It's now been almost 2 months since my morning sickness has ended and no unpleasant symptoms have followed me into the 2nd trimester. I actually feel great! I am starting to show and am in that weird stage where my maternity shirts are too big but my regular clothes are too small. I am now excited to grow so I can be comfortable in some type of clothing. Pants are another story. I am now only fitting into 2 pairs of jeans my friend Megan has lent me that have a drawstring waist and one pair of khakis which I bought a size bigger than normal. I can barely button my khakis and am planning a trip to the Old Navy maternity section today. I have to at least have one pair of pants to wear in the schools!
Good news! I was able to schedule my ultrasound on my birthday. It will be such a sweet birthday present to see our baby for the first time!
The baby is also kicking now. I can feel it a few times each day. Last night, Justin even was able to feel it. A few nights ago, I was eating a slice of banana bread and the baby was going wild so it must already have a favorite food! I feel more connected to the baby now that I feel it move. Although we are tempted to know if it's a he or she that's moving around in there, we are sticking to our guns about not finding out. |
