Maybe find a inpatient program to regulate meds and behavior. . .

Maybe find an inpatient program to regulate meds and behavior. . . .Never let them see you sweat or know that you're upset. It reinforces poor behavior. Fail to react and then pull the rug out from under your rugrat by taking away something they want/expect/need by saying calmly, "We certainly would be do X if you hadn't done Y. We can try again tomorrow. Good luck." There will be an explosion. Expect it. Ignore it. Keep the little ones safe and praise the next good behavior you see but don't give in on the lost want/expectation/need. Works in the classroom. . . most of the time.

Heather, I will keep you in my prayers. I am a 67 yr old grandma with 12 yr old and 9 yr old grandaughters I am raising. The 9yr old is severly ADHD, has been on several different meds and has currently been taken off all the ADHD meds because they raise both her blood pressure and her heart rate. Unmedicated, this is not a fun child to be around. I came here to see if there are any parents who have been successful or are successfully controling the ADHD with diet and environment. After reading your posting, I'm wondering if his environment is unsuitable. Where does he go after school?

I am a single mom of three and my oldest is 8. He is severly ADHD and has been on several different meds and is currently on the Daytrana patch but the lowest dosage. Today I get ANOTHER call from the school and I dont know what to do. Today it's a lighter at school, he's already been suspended from the bus 3 times, this time for the semester. He is mean to his brother and sister, 3 and 2, and we fight, constantly. He refuses to do his homework. He refuses to read like he's supposed to. He tells me that I love tha babies more than I do him and that we NEVER do anything together. I remind him of his love for video games and cartoons, then he stops. He walks on the counter and home and knocks the stuff off the ceiling and won't clean it up, to which his Dr. tells me that we need to get his ADHD under control before we can worry about this. So I say, "GET IT UNDER CONTROL!!" I'm losing my hair. I work 50+ hrs a week to go home and clean for an hour a night plus cook and clean up from that, fight over his homework before I finally give up. Yes, I said give up. He wins, I can't. He has control, I don't. What do I do? ↓

So I am in the same situation as most heere, sigle mom with my 8 year who is on Vyvanse. He is great at school...a top scholar now but when he comes home it is pure hell. He can not stay on task more than 1 minute I have to clean up after him, brush his teeth do EVERYTHING for him. I have managed to make him care about his school work because he has figured out he is smart and is good at it. He has failed in everything else. So my advise is, find something that they are good at and PLAY it to the MAX. Understand they know their behavior is not normal and want do do somehting right. Over do it!!! Make sure ANYTHING they do right you give constant praise. Get meds yourself so you do not lose it....I have at times and have beat , cursed out rediculed and felt like SH*& after. I also suggest having a conversation with them and help them understand their disability. My son has read the full definition and understands that it is something he can not control so that his self esteme is not effected as much anymore. He knows that he has to reach deep inside and change so that mommy is sane and he has friends and a normal life. Remember...PRAISE, GOOD JOB, GREAT....try it and see.

God Bless us All!!

Hello Heather, hopefully you will read this. Or that it will help someone else in the same situation. I have come across a new natural drink product that has proven time and time again to counter act the behaviors of ADHD. I personally don't have children with ADHD, but do have a close cousin with a 12 year old son with severe ADHD. He also has been to multiple doctors, tried every kind of medication and nothing has helped him as much as this simple, cheap natural drink!! If you would like to hear more about it, or give it a shot, send me an email and I would love to get you the info on this drink. my email is [email protected]. Hope I can help anyone with this info. Thanks

Other mums are just like you, i mean we share the some kind of disturbance; just yesterday i fight with my 13 years old son to make his study before last term exam. Be stronger, let a doctor to help you and keep in touch with other parents like you.
Love you son, be straith with him but, when he deserves reward him.
good luck
