My son that will be 4 on the 19th of this month was diagnosed today with ADHD and was prescribed the Daytrana patch. I have known since age 2 that he was and I am excited for my life to finally settle down! HOPEFULLY IT WORKS!!!! Anyone have advice?

My only advice is, don't give up on all medications if the Daytrana Patch does not work as you had hoped. Sometimes it takes several months to figure out the best medication, as well as figuring out dosages, and times of day to administer. Don't give up. Medication has helped my son become much calmer (not zombie-like) and much more focused.

I agree with Mom, meds are not a quick or easy fix. It does help, trust me, it does help (at least with my son it did) and things do really get better. I have found though that we still do have many not great days, I find these are usually around the time when we need a med increase. It is also hard to deal with a bad day when we have had so many good days.
After my son was put on Concerta, things did greatly improve. I hope that things work out well with you!
