My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and Autistic spectrum two months ago and my 15 year old son has aspergers (diagnosed when he was 6) I am struggling big time (so is my son). my daughter was put on ritalin (slow release 27mg) a week ago, the week before she was on 18mg, I understand the progression stages with the medication, but am finding the outburts, screaming, abusing launguage and behaviour mind wrecking, my son is not coping with the screaming, I'M NOT COPING HELP ME, I'M FALLING APART

My son was diagnosed with ADHD in 5th grade. He has been taking Concerta and ritalin & it helps with school work, but he still looks like a 5th grader and he is not growing. I am worried!

the best thing you can do is speak to your general practitioner or child psychologist about the problems you have been having. my heart goes out to you, dont feel like you are alone, thousands of parents out there are going through the same thing and are more than willing to offer their advice and expertise. try looking for support groups around where you live. sometimes speaking to people who are going through the same thing and sharing the problems you are having is half the battle. if this drug is having this kind of negative effect on your daughter then the practitioner who prescribed it should be your first port of call. good luck with everything
