If you want your ADD child to understand what it's like for you to live with him, try having another child with ADD come stay with you for a week! LOL! IT WORKS!!! Maybe temporarily, maybe not. We'll see. But we've had the neighbor boy staying with us since Sunday(parents out of town for work) and will be with us until Saturday! He is driving my boys CRAZY!!! Although it is a huge amount of extra work for me this week, I am finding it quite interesting and amusing to observe. I will let you all know how next week without the neighbor boy goes....I wonder if my boys will start to think things through a little more before they act and also I am hoping that their listening skills will improve....I can dream right?:)

My oldest is ADD and my youngest has autism and just for the record.........THAT WAS THE WEEK FROM YOU KNOW WHERE! Having that third in the mix was so much work! My oldest calmed down slightly because he's older than the other boy and I think just watching this other boy wore us all out! LOL! What an experience:)

It won't work. My son has adhd and when another child that has it comes around, he just gets mad at them, but does not change his behavior. Adhd is a sickness, not a learned trait. It should be treated with therapy and or medication.

My child was on medication for a few years and in therapy....didn't work all that well for us. I'd rather have him with a short attention span and happy, than walking around liek a zombie all the time or complaing of a ton of other side affects. This was just something funny I had posted because I knew it was gonna be a challenge having the other on for a wekk along with my own. Sorry if I offended any of you:)

I know ADHA is like a disroder and it makes them like... Crazy in their actions like Taking off their clothes, being rude etc...

But how does it come about

Umm....Burn4Me- not sure where you got your info. but ADHD kids don't run around uncontrolably takign off their clothes! LOL! They can just be impulsive in their behavior and can come across as disrespectful and strong-willed at times. They have a hard time focusing and sitting still or staying with an activity for a time longer than a few minutes or more. You must be thinking of a different disorder, but kids are just born with it. It is diagnosed more these days because there has been more research, so it's understood a little better....
