Hello
I have a son who is also 6 who has been diagnosed with ADHD. We have struggled with it for a few years now, and I dont know what to do. I am torn between medication or not. I need other view points on what to do?What meds are your son on? ↑ |
Hi Heather,
I was in the same boat and since my son was 2 1/2 I struggled with him and got upset even at the small things because it would happen like every 15mins and just built up. I was getting so mad I would say things to his dad (not infront of my son) like I wish I never had kids because it was also taking a lot out of me and a lot away from my daughter as well. I just wanted to give up. My son is still impulsive, still gets into things and still talks back (which it is still hard when my other 3 do not most of the time) but it has leveled out. I was able to take my 1,3,& 8 yr old out for the day but wouldnt go anywhere because of my 5yr old at the time. Anyway we are doing better now this year is the first year since my son was in a infant seater that we as a family have gone out to eat and it went okay :o0 He is on 18MG if Concerta. As I have said in my first passage I actually did a medical report collecting data from medical resources as well as studies and in short, the pro's are greater than the con's for medication. It just depends which med settles right for your child. Good Luck feel free to write if you would like any more info or my opinion etc [email protected] ↑ |
