Hello all moms and dads out there! I just want to let u all know that i have an 11 year old son wich is diagnosed ADHD (thats what the psychologists call it) i call it "the gift" and whoever in their right mind stigmatized adhd as a disorder and not a gifted challenge really has to start opening their minds and change their point of veiw about this condition. As i always say about adhd: ABUSE THE MUSE! with all that creativity balled and tangeled up and dont know where to go,...logicly it gets released as confusion and frustration that most adaults recodnize as "my child is uncontrollable" the hyperness "inner gitter" wants to b itched,...so lets cratch it by creating! From my own xperience,... then i can assure you that its xtremely rewarding! your self esteem is elevated and your motivation to continue has no boundries! What you can acheive from this condition when reversed to a positive challenge keeps us hungry for more challenges as long as we aknowlege it, so thats why i say: abuse the muse, when your gifted with the creativeness of adhd,.... the mind craves stimulance at all times,....we hate a daul moment,..were NOT withdrawn or unfocused for no reason,......were plain right bored,...certain things don`t and can never reach our attention no matter how many times "the teacher" drills it in our brain if were not interested. So what about meds.? I choose not to,...right now my child has no choiceor say,...I have to choose for him when he is only 11. so instead of drowning his emotions and creative abilities by choosing medication,....i choose to guide,.. him to aknowlege his inner abilities and skills instead, challenging? YES! but so is changing a dirty diaper for the first time, do we have to give unessessary meds. for that? But dont get me wrong, im not judging medication or saying not to use it when in servere cases,....but taking the "hard way around" is certainly benifitual in the long run and deffenatly rewarding in my sons case. My intentions are NOT to rob my son of his individual rights as a human being, but when he becomes of age of when he can decide for himself conserning "med. or not to med. then atleast i have provided him with recodnizing this condition as a positive and not a negative condition and has givin him the knowlege and xperience from childhood of acheiving his goals on his own,..and own free will urging him to lay more bricks to the foundation of adaulthood with a positive outlook about living and copeing with adhd, its just to abuse the muse,... let the inspiration become creation. So all you moms and dads out there who are at their witts end with children with adhd,.....look past the negativity with this condition and find alternitive methods to release the gift in your gifted children. If any of you want to share "their" xperience with with me,....then i cant wait to reply! I would love to hear your isight and xperience with this condition. yours truely,..... Gumball.
