Hi everyone sorry I havent been around alot but I need some information on this adhd medicine its a patch does it work better then oral medicine? my son hes seven wont be eight til Nov. but hes on concerta now and the doctor is thinking about puting him on that patch (and I cant think of the name of it) If any one has any information on it would be great I'm kind of scared to try him on something new is there any side effects to it like it is to the pills? thanks for your help and answers!!!

Hi Fancy, My son has been on the Daytrana patch for about two months. It is better for him than the concerta, as it lasts until you take it off. I put it own him about an hour before he wakes up, so he is more compliant when I do awake him for school. The only downside I find is some redness irritation and my son has removed it on his own a couple of times, however most of the time he leaves it alone.

Thanks synthiastokes for the input my son hes been on so many meds from addrall to addrall xr to ridlin to mostly all to name a few but like always he complains about his stomach or his head so I hope he has none of the side effects from the patch concerta helps him to pay attention and caims him down alot but theres that side effect with the headaches or stomach problems but any ways thanks so much for your in put take care

I believe its called Daytrana, My daughter is see her doc on monday and we are going to start it , she is also on Concerta now, I will let you know how it goes.

thank you taybry I hope your daughter does well on it I'm kind of scared because I know he will probley take it off and get into trouble at school but I really couldnt tell if he would or not actually but I hope he does well on it also take care and thanks and also keep me in form please on how she does with it thanks
