Aperry -
Is your son on any medication? My son takes 15 mg. of Dexedrine for his ADHD. He began to have severe behavior problems at school and home, and the doc started him on Risperdal to treat the behavior. Some parents aren't comfortable with medication, but the Risperdal has really helped. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. My son is 10 years old.

My son has, like yours, been on a ton of different meds through out his poor little life since the age of 7. He's now 13 and as of about 2 months ago, have started him on an anti-depressant called Lexapro. It seems to be helping a little with the impulsiveness in a different way without the side affects. He still is impulsive, but he is more apologetic about it. I was a single Mom of my two boys, one with ADD and the other has autism, and it was tough! I know what you must be going through. Hang in there and try to connect with other parents or Moms that have special needs kids....it really helps having the extra support. And as far as what other parents say about him......they obviously don't have a special needs child because she would've never called him bad. They are NOT bad kids, they just need EXTRA guidance and LOTS of love! I keep my son on a pretty tight leash, which he hates sometimes but also can't live without. They need structure and consistancy! Okay enough blabbing here, hope I helped a little.

Aperry.........my daughter is 10 with ADHD........and I go through the same thing.....first...........you are handling it....stop selling yourself short. Do you see any one else there taking care of your son. Please cut yourself some slack. Another thing..your husband isn't here right now..........but you are and you are handeling things. Right now things are more stressed than usual but it will get better, trust me. Skyler goes through tuff days just like your son. I goe through the same days your going through...........actually everyone on this site feels what your going through ..........so it's ok to let off so steam and get frustrated. Being a parent isn't easy. Best to you and your family and our hearts tou you and your husbands safely return home. You need to [email protected]........ just to let off some steam some time.lolol.
