Hi I read what you wrote about your daughter having adhd. I just found out that my 5 year daughter has it too i was wondering did you go into preterm labor with your daughter? I did from 5 months and the nurses gave me alot of the terb shot to stop the contractions i was trying to figure out if that could of led to this.

Thunderdragon: We started my son on Methylphenidate (generic of Ritalin) when he was 5. We tried only using behavior modification at first, no sugar, etc. with no progress. The Ritalin made a huge difference in both his ability to focus and it helped his behavior quite a bit (tantrums reduced and not as severe). The schools have been great about giving him his medication and staying in touch with any problems. His appetite has gone down, so we have to give him a lot of healthy snacks. It also has made it hard to sleep at night, but we give him the natural supplement Melatonin (with dr. approval) and it has helped a lot as well.
