Hi everyone! I am 19 1/2 weeks along and have been feeling my baby since 15 weeks. At first it was the fluttering and has now turned into nice solid kicks. Well, last night I had a bad stomach ache. I woke up in the middle of the night and was in pain. I noticed, as I was moaning and cursing that Mexican food I ate, that my baby made these super fast and hard movements/kicks for a good couple of minutes straight! It really scared me because I have never felt her like that. Basically, I was just wondering if this is just a progression of my baby's growth and strength or was she upset because I was upset!!??? Any thoughts??? thanx

i am 20 wks and 2 days and have felt the baby since 15 1/2 wks. i know what u mean with the strong kicking. i, myself have had a few bad stomach aches from things i ate and also noticed the baby moving a lot. i figured it was because my stomach was making so much noise. before i felt the baby move, a nurse said for me to eat something and then lay on my back and the digestive noises would likely get the baby moving. it works almost every time. so i bet she got woke up. its a great sign that she's kickings you, i think. it means you have a very healthy, vigorous baby inside you. i wouldnt worry. these babies can go through just about anything and turn out fine. a couple my husband knew, who where only in there mid 20's were woken one night to noises in the living room. her husband,my husbands friend since highschool grabbed a fire poker and the people in the house were yelling, POLICE! well he didnt think it was police because there was no reason for them to be in his living room in the middle of the night, so he went for them ( it was very dark).the police shot and killed him. apparently his grandpa who was upstairs had accidentaly pushed the speed dial for 911 and didnt realize it and hung up. the police thought there was a problem and they thought ben was the intruder. my point is that 2 weeks after he died, his wife found out she was pregnant and about 9 mos. later, a healthy baby boy was born. the mom was obviously in terrible distress during the most critical time of the babys development and he was ok. so i dont think a bad stomach ache will do your baby harm. sorry for the long story. hope it helps.
