So Tyler once again has Bad diaper rash, and it wont seem to go away, He has diarrhea but its strange its still lumpy, but he hasn't eaten any thing different at all, so i don't know what it could be from, but his little butt is starting to be raw, so yesterday i let him walk around with out a diaper on, to air out, well he ended up pooping on the floor in our room and then stepping in it on purpose and spreading it all over LOL

so that ended that idea and now hes back with a diaper, Ive used about 5 different creams, and even a prescription one and nothing, and baby powder too, he cry's even before i wipe him because he knows its going to hurt! :(

any advice???

Has he been on antibiotics recently? If not I would stop using wipes until he heals, try using a very soft wash cloth with warm water on it, once he heals maybe try using newborn sensitive wipes or one that is fragrance free. Also, have you switched diapers lately? Maybe try a different kind of diaper to see if that helps, maybe he's having a reaction to either the wipes or diapers.

Is he teething?
Kaden gets funny poops when he is teething. Not a rash though unless we use pampers or something.

Since he has been in cloth diapers, we have had no problems. Olivia is allergic to disposables, so I started with cloth for him as well. Disposables have a lot of chemicals in them (as do wipes) and it's possible he built up an intolerence from over exposure. I would use some Aveeno Oatmeal bath and then let him run around. Stop using the wipes, just wet paper towel or baby washcloths and pick up some coconut oil. I slather that on and not only do they smell yummy, but their skin is nice and soft too.

Using the Aveeno oatmeal bath is a great idea. You could also try using aquaphor, it's sold with lotions or in some stores they have it in the baby dept. I hope he gets better soon.

Joey gets it from time to time. I use E45 nappy cream on every nappy change and make sure he's dry with fresh nappies on regularly, but still he gets rash sometimes so bad he's in agony when I'm cleaning him.

My folks say it's because he's teething.

Might that be the reason with Tyler?

The doctor gave Belle this stuff called Calmoseptine! It was GREAT! Her bottom is so freaking sensitive and apple juice tears her up too and milk to.

I cant be bothered reading peoples replies on here lol... so i will just say what i think...

Izzy had a horrid nappy rash a few months ago, i tried every cream and airing out her bum everyday and it just seemed to get worse and worse !! so all i could put it down to was a yeast infection like thrush.... i got some " canestin cream " ( it probably has a different name in America sorry =S ) you can buy it over the counter here.... its for Tinea and vaginal thrush, also can be used on other skin yeast infections..... and it cleared it up within 2 days !!

umm.... you really have to keep it dry which is really hard since he pooed on the floor when you took off his diaper LOL ... im not sure if u do already.... but every hour even if hes ONLY done wees... wipe his bottom with a wet cloth to get off all the excess wees....

Some nappy rashes can actually be a lot more serious than you think.. and can get really infected and will need anti biotics. if its still not gone in a week consider taking him to the doctors.

ok it is going on this long and is this bad then you need one of two things both require an ex from you doctor. either a yeast infection med like niastat (sp) or you need a steroid cream. sometimes a babies body will over react to a rash and you need to suppress the reaction so it can heal that is what the steroid cream will do. The right med will make a major difference in just a day or two. ALso in the mean time soak him in warm water with baking soda in it. do not use wipes.

Good luck i hope it gets better soon :)

Poor Tyler's butt-butt...I would have said use Apuaphor too but since its no working. You may just need to take him to the doc and have it looked at it prescribe something.

Also NATURAL UNREFINED Shea butter. This may help with the rawness and sooth it some, the Vitimain A, E, and F will coat and protect his butt.. Shea butter at the drug store is not the real shea butter because the add frangance and such...not good for the skin. If you can try and find some real natural unrefined Shea Butter and later it one!! Good luck.

This post was 2 days ago...is it any better?

Pediatricians and pharmacists in our area often recommend a product called Super Duper Diaper DOO. It's a funny name, but really seems to prevent and treat diaper rash. It is clear after you apply so you can see the results.
