I have lost 4 pounds since my last visit to my midwife. I have to go back and see her again in 2 weeks to see if I have gained the weight back. Has anyone else had this problem and is there anything I can do to gain it back ?

I've had morning sickness with both of my pregnancies. With my first one I lost 28 pounds during my first trimester. With my second I lost 10 pounds. If you concerned you could always add some more calories to you diet. But if your midwife isn't concerned I wouldn't worry about it. That baby will not suffer. What happens is that when you are pregnant the baby actually recieved his/her nutrients before you do.

i did the same thing i lost like 20lbs my first trimester due to "morning sickness". i still don't know why they call it "morning" cause i had it all day! anyway as long as your midwife isn't worried you shouldn't either. worrying and stress aren't good for the baby! just try and take good care of your self and good luck. oh and Congrats on the pregnacy!!!

LOL Melissa. I actually was wondering the same question about morning sickness. I too had it all day and all night. I truely think they need to come up with a different name.

Hi, I'm due oct 15th, my doctor was really concerned, in my 1st trimester i lost 8 pounds, but trust me it didnt take long till i started piling back on the wieght, since then i have put back on the 8 pound that i lost and an extra 8 pound on top of that.

i lost over 20 lbs before i started to gain weight. They actually had to put me on meds to maintain my weight. If your midwife is watching it and u can keep down liquids i wouldn't worry. make sure that if u get dehydrated to let your midwife know.

I think they call it morning sickness because it starts one morning and lasts until the next morning. Dont you think?

Don't feel too bad about the weight loss, I dropped around 21 pounds and have just now put on a little (a whopping 2 pounds) and am over halfway through this one. When you visit your doctor or midwife, he or she will check your urine to see if Ketones are developing (they develop from breaking down of fat stores in the body) at a high rate, if they aren't then you're just fine. As long as the baby is growing as it should, all is well.

That might be it ladyblueblood. The never ending run of being sick from one morning to the next. The good news is that exactly at 15 weeks (12 weeks with my first) my morning sickness ended. Still get gaggy with dairy so I do my best to stay away from that.

At my last appointment I gained 2 pound so now I am only down 8 pounds from where I started. Not sure what I am suppose to gain since no one said anything to me so I have no clue as to how far away I am to being the weight that they'd like. I just keep hearingevery 4 weeks , "I'm not worried about the baby."
