What kind of foods can I give my 5 month old insted of making her eat jar foods? ↓

Hey there
My son turned 4 months today and i'm starting him on soilds.
He's on Avacado and next week is Banana's.
I'm going to try and stay away fro jared baby food and cereal as his main source of food.
Yesterday was my first go at it and it went pretty good. ↑ |

| well we have a veggie steamer/ rice cooker thingy, and ive never used it so i guess thats what im going to use, and then im going to get one of those mini food processor things that are really cheap, like 20 bucks and thats what im going to use, along with some cube trays ↑ |

you guys should get this book, its really informative and has lots of pictures.. i love pictures lol
and it has good mixtures of the foods too, and it was cheap, i got it of amazon ↑ |

| Carrots should wait Lauren. I didn't give them until 8 months. They can be high in nitrates... even in the jars of food. It can cause blue baby syndrome... In the baby food class I took they said to wait until at least 8 months, although they should be ok after 6. ↑ |

| lauren i have the same book and it has good recipe ideas but it is not in order of when they should be given by age. your pediatrican should help with when you should introduce certain foods. the link opheilia posted has the months for them. ↑ |
