last nite i had sever cramping i thought i was losing my baby the pain was so sever. so we went up to the er. i told them that i have had 2 children before and there is something wrong with the baby this isnt normal. they took it as is it was nothing and made us sit in the waiting room for 3 hrs we were so scared. then when we got into our room the doctor came in another 2 hours later. he felt my tummy and he told me i was to fat he made me so upset he had no idea what he was doing he didnt even check for the babies heart beat so we left its pretty sad that if there is something wrong with the baby that they didnt take it seriously that is a little life inside of me and they didnt see it that way im going in for an ultra sound tomorrow i hope theres nothing wrong but it scares u has anyone else had cramping ?

How far along are you? What id your weight have to do w/ the well-being of your baby? I've heard of ER doctors being insensitive, but this takes the cake. Did he even do a pelvic exam or check for a heartbeat? That could be considered medical negligence if something is wrong, which I doubt there is. I've had minor cramping, but I've always thought it was round ligament pain. If you have no blood or change in discharge, then you should be alright. I',m so sorry that you had to put up w/ that crap. Let us know what happens w/ the u/s tomorrow.

no he didnt do a pelvic exam didnt listen to the babies heart beat he more so just ignored me there was a girl in calgary who went to the er and she thought she was losing her baby and she did in the waiting room in front of everybody i am so sad for her but my cramps are gone so thats a good sign right. i guess that goes to show what kinda hospitals we have

Well no matter what constitutes as an emergency, no one has the right to be rude to you! I am so sorry you had to go through this, it is so heartbreaking and frustrating when people are rude and thoughtless! Maybe you will have nothing but positive experiences from here on out! I probably will not ever understand why they would not even check for a heartbeat but maybe everything will be Ok! And Yes keep us updated with the US!

when i went to the er for the same thing, he came in with the heart monitor, and pulled the gown up, and put it on my tattoo i have down there, and was like theres the heart beat.. and he looked at me and goes, usually its really hard to find it, unless you're like anorexic, and he was like im not calling u fat, but ur not anorexic lol i was like uhm okay?! i was told the seever sharp pains and the cramping is normal, its just ligaments stretching.

Ok I can not believe that they did not do an US just to rule out a tubal pregnancy. In most hospitals that is SOP when a woman is still in her first trimester. I am really sorry that you had to go through that. I would make a formal compliant to the hospital director. or the ER director. It is that Dr's job to treat you with care and respect no matter what he is feeling. Let us know how the US goes. Best wishes to you
