whenever you want i know some people think its bad luck but i started buying stuff as soon as i found out i was expecting my son, im now pregnant again, (6 wks rougly i think and bought a maternity top today cos didnt think there was any point wasting money on a normal top as it wont fit me in a few months!!...its all down to the individual if you feel you want to wear maternity stuff and buy stuff for your baby then absolutely no reason why you shpuldnt.

I think that you should buy maternity clothes when your clothes stop fittin gyou. I bought my first pair of maternity pants at 8 weeks. It is my 3rd child and I look about 5 months pregnant now. (am almost 12 weeks now) I only bought the pants at first. I started buying the shirts when my other ones were getting snug. I think that the maternity clothes are more comfortable. Even more so if you get morning sickness. I feel worse when there is anything snug on my belly. Everyone is different and you should wear what is comfortable to you...
Good luck....

lol...its good to hear that. well, im glad to say that i went out yesterday and bought some clothes..not too much though. i only bought a couple of shirts from old navys new line of maternity clothing. i went to mimi maternity but everyone there looked older and like they knew what they were doing..lol...so i think im going to wait and just go to motherhood at the other mall...besides, their clothes are more my style..lol. and wow tonita, thats alot of years to be trying. my aunt tryed for nine. its kindof hard shopping for clothes when its your first child. i think as we have children, we'll start to feel more comfortable. lol. i think theres alot of lucky ladies out there that never got sick, you can count me in on that one too. well, ill write, but e-mail is kindof boring to me..lol..i use my aim alot. so if you have one of those, trust me, it will make our conversation a whole lot easier..lol..bye people

ok,,. now theres another problem. im not sure if im ready to wear it. i mean, i bought it and my bf wants to go somewhere after he gets off work, he told me to wear one of them and now, im scared. this is a HUGE town so noone really knows anyone else, i live in the Dallas Fort Worth area. its just the thought that scares me. like if i go to the mall, are the older mothers in their 30s going to look at me funny and critisize me for being pregnant so young? im 18 years old. im used to being scared of what the more safisticated and elder think...what do i do to just blow it off? like how do i get comfortable? im glad im pregnant but i care what people think. please help.

Heather--You really shouldn't worry about what other poepl think of you. At least people who don't know you. You are happy right? Well, then just be happy with yourself and others will see that you have your head on straight and this is what you want in life. I think that people look at the younger people and "judge" them because of the way they carry themselves. If you see someone out there playing around, doing stuff they shouldn't be doing (during pregnancy) or not very mature about it---then you have some people who will feel sorry for them... I thin kthat it is all in the way you carry yourself.. Go out there and enjoy your prgnancy and have a great time with your boyfriend! You guys deserve it.

Heather I feel the same way I am due Jan. 28. I don't have any clothes that fit but I don't feel like I am big enough for maternity clothes yet. I walked into MiMi's and walked right back out. My doctor even asked If i was still in my reg. clothes and when I said yes These jeans used to be big on me he gave me a weird look I don't know what to do or what I should wear. Help!

hey, these people on here have helped me alot. and sounds to me like your further than i am. i bought a shirt from old navy but then i was scared to wear it. well, that night me and my bf went to our friends house where alot of our other friends were also, so after i got there, they treated me normal. no one gave me looks that were anything to feel bad about. i mean, im a very petite person. i weighed 105 pounds before i got pregnant and everyone thinks im younger than what i am so i think that makes me feel weird too. and i think that im not showing as much because i was so little? i have no clue but i know what your talking about with the whole clothes thing. i had a pair of pants that were the size i wore but for some reason they never fit, they were always to big on my thighs and i guess around my hips, and now they fit perfect. i dont know what the deal is. but thats the only pair of pants that fit. i talk to my bf about it alot and he says that his friends gf didnt show for a long time and then she just blew up..lol..but i think all girls are differnet sizes and our bodies work differnet ways. you dont have anything to worry about and these girls on here have alot of support that will be comforting. have you read the whole page? im getting used to it, but i think itll take some time. good luck,

as soon as i was uncomfortable in my regular clothes into the maternity clothes. even if you are still fairly small you need to be comfortable in what you're wearing. i too did start buying some maternity things before i even started to show and start buying the baby things-i think it kind of prepares you and it is so exciting too.

maybe you all should try networking w/friends who have kids and are comparable size...you know share/borrow...maternity clothes can be so expensive and with winter around the corner, big sweater will be great to use...also, try clothes a couple of sizes larger that aren't maternity...that extra room will come in handy after you have the baby too...you may want to try Target...you can't beat the prices...

Hey Sara, Im Sara too, nice to meet you.
Im 13 weeks and I bought some great maternity jeans yesturday. They are neat and stylish but have this amazing elasticated waist which looks like it will see me right through - its huge.

I say buy what ever you need to make yourself feel comfortable if you want to remain smart. For work I cannot go in with tracky pants on so getting maternity clothes is essential for me. You'll figure it out Heather, make sure you are comfortable, if you are happy baby is happy. :)
