I'm out of the age range for anorexia -- 49. Major stressors with a new blended family. Was hospitalized for eating disorder in college. I'm 5'10" and have started weighing myself and writing it down again. Still 125, so need for intervention yet. Is there anyone out there who knows about revisiting this as an adult?

no one is ever out of the range of an eating disoder. Like I said on another responce. An eating disorder is like cancer. once you have cancer you always have cancer. Sometimes you will be in treatment and sometimes you will be in remission. You can go years and years without even the though of anorexia and then one day it just hits you.

I encourage you to

1) Find someone you can talk to
2) Let your husband help you.
3) REMOVE THE SCALE FROM YOUR HOUSE. Find a friend you trust and ask them to hold on to it for you.
4) You must find completness and healing in Christ. when I start thinking about anorexia I repeat Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in your sight, o lord, my rock and my redeemer. I repeat this until the thoughts of anorexia are gone and I can focus on something else.

And remember...you are a role model to others and to your family. I don't know if you have kids...but if you do then they watch you and will model your behavior. Trust me...as a kid I followed my mom's eating problems.

i don't know if that helped any. But I know how it is. I'm praying for you.
