My daughter will be going to college for the first time. She will be staying in a co-ed dorm that is 90% girls and 10% boys. I was concerned that her sleepwear is a little too revealing for her to wear in front of boys.

She wears a babydoll to bed. It's short and sheer. I think it's cute. It's fine for her to wear in front of her Dad and brother. Except she's going to be moving into a co-ed dorm and there's a difference between wearing it in front of your dad and brother and wearing it in front of boys at yoiur school!

She doesn't think there's anything wrong with it. She doesn't plan to get different sleepwear than what she has now. My daughter is innocent. She is saving herself for marriage. It's because she's innocent that she doesn't see anything wrong with it.

Do u think she is really a virgin. I mean no disrespect. Is she saving herself because of religious beliefs? If so maybe you can use that to talk to her about her sleep wear. Did she choose the co ed dorm. Was there another choice. She maybe sending u a message oe testing the waters to see how u react. Maybe the college has rules. Most dorms dont allow the opposite sex in their rooms after 10 or 11. Rules are usually strict for incoming freshmen. Maybe if shes truly innocent she doesnt understand what can really happen. Show her things online and let her see what can happen. She may get taken advantage of if she dresses that way. She may not know that.

I did talk to my daughter, and I got her sleepwear that is not so revealing. However, you don't seem to be aware that it is common for girls to be undressed in front of boys in a college dorm. My daughter would never do this, but other girls in a college dorm often walk from their dorm room to the showers wearing nothing but a towel! A girl wearing nothing but a towel, on her way to the showers, might turn the corner, and unexpectedly physically bump into a boy!!!

I disagree that wearing revealing clothes indicates a lack of morality. A girl who wears revealing clothes is not more likely to lose her virginity before marriage. I also disagree that it would put her at increased risk. Rapists do nit rape women because they wear revealing clothes.
