I am not a single parent but I know how you feel. I was 18 when I had my first child and I was by myself then, all my friends seemed to have forgotten my number and address, when I first had my son I lived with my parents and that pretty much blew but when I got my own place I really was alone all the time and that was even worse so if you get along alright with your parents stay as long as you can! as for wanting to go out if possible save up some money every month and find a trust worth person to take your daughter for the night and go do whatever I believe you are a better parent if you still have time to be an adult as well, to some that doesn't make any sence but from reading your post I am sure you know what I mean. I am 24 now and have 3 kids ( 6 years, 2 years and 6 weeks) so its hard to save the money to pay the sitter and pay to go out! luckily our parents are pretty willing to take them once a month but not always. good luck and if you want to ever e-mail me just to talk feel free honest I know its nice to have a neutral person to vent to or just ask questions you can't ask anyone else here is my e-mail [email protected]. take care

Hey,I know exactly how you feel...In the same boat, stay with your parents as long as you can it is easier that way.I have my own place now and I get really lonely too however none of my friends are at school.Make friends with a couple who you trust and spend time with them, often they will be willing to babysit too when they realize how hard you are trying. One thing I do is let my friends come to me after my daughter is in bed at night.she is 1 and sleeps all night, that is if we aren't too noisy! I have one friend who comes over and spends usually 2 nights a week with me just to keep me company and because he knows how lonely I get.(single school friend) We stay up late and watch movies most of the night and he'll have a beer and I'll have something and we'll just hang.If it is more than just hangin' your parents will have a problem with it but heck if you're being a responsible adult make some new good friends and just do some hangin together. No one will complain.

Well why not branch out into a new crowd of people and life , what are your goals as your little girl gets older , you don't seem to be working or going to school , count your blessings if thats the case not many parents would be as helpfull. Have you looked into a community college and starting working on a two year degree , you can probably get some state assistance for daycare and most colleges have daycares on sight , also most of them offer on-line courses , so perhaps you could start there , and some offer some parenting classes or other group type meetings you might look your community and see if you can find any this will offer you a way to meet other moms , make freinds this way.

my husband left me 6 1/2 months pregnant and i had to go to live with my parents and didn't think that I could get a job because of how far along i was. a month and a half passed and i thought i was going mad. i was irritable, annoyed by my family and also so lonley i wanted to scream. i finally decided to go to a temp agency and see if they could find me a job, and they did. now i have tons of relief, i get to go out, socialize, and make some extra money until the baby comes. go out and get a job, seriously, you will feel so much better!

ok take one step at a time. join a mums and toddlers club and build relationships with someone as lonely as you. when you got to know them a bit ask them if they want to go out for a coffee or something to put your mind at rest and build friendships. xxx good luck littlejo

You could also check into moving to an apartment where they base your rent on whatever your income is and meet other people like yourself there.

i am not a parent at all, im a 13 year old kid, u cant have sex until u know hes gonna stay with u, u have the right to scream, and u know wat, its at times like these where u see who ur true friends are, and u need to hold on tight ur little girl looks up to u, and u need to stop thinking about going mad, u will get out of this wait a little longer, everything will pay off, dont have any intercourse or any commitment till ur older. u are a brave girl and i am proud of u, hold on, itll work out fine, im praying for u =)!

Honey i know the feeling myself.

My advise to you is join and attend a local church. God works in mysterious ways and you never know what he has up his sleeve.
I am sure there are other single mom's in your area with the same problem. Someone at church can steer you in the right direction I am sure. God Loves you cheer up !!
