Hey everyone. I'm 18 years old (19 in feb) and i'm in this preg thing alone. I'm 13 weeks along. I was thinking about that to do about my childs birth certificate (bc) when the time comes.
the father doesn't think its his and he wants a dna test done. there is no doubt in my mind that it is his (he was the only person i was having sex with at the time). If i want child support i have to have his name on the bc right? and if i put his name on it does that mean he can try to take the kid from me?
what should i do?

You cant put his name on it without his permision. At least not in the state I live in. He has to sign it.You do not have to put him on anyways if you are afraid he will take the baby away. The court will not ususally take a baby away from his/her mother unless she is found very unfit. Are you afraid you are unfit?

no he cant take the kid from you and it doesnt really sound like he wants to if hes denying the childs his.Id get a dna test because you cant put him on the certificate without his permission all the best

first off, i'm not sure what the florida state law says about the father being on the certificate without permission. I'll have to look that up. I'm not sure if he'll want to have the kid or not but i'm not willing to risk him trying to take my child away. I can't afford to have a dna test done...i don't even have money saved up for the kid yet. I have 25 cents in my wallet right now...i feel that i will not be as fit of a parent as the father will be because of my lack of money right now. i'm just scared.
