Hello! I am a student studying early childhood education and wish to specialize in special education. Would anyone be willing to answer a view questions for me for an assignment?

What disability does your child have?
How old is your child/children?
If your child attends school or daycare, do you feel that your child's individual needs are supported while they are there? Why or why not?
How do you usually get through a typical day with your child?

I would really appreciate any answers you can give me! Thank You!

My Daughter had a stroke in uter. she hasn't been labeled yet but will probably MR or CP. She is !8 months old and she attends daycare while I go to school full time. I believe they do a lote for my daughter I have seen vast improvements in her. I you were to ask if I think they give them everything you would like them to have no. I also understand it is hard when you are taking care of several children. MY daughter and I spend alot of one on one time together working on PT OT speech, special need children require a special kind of heart.

thank you so much for responding to me. i don't think any childcare gives our children everything we want them to have. I have three of my own, boys 3 and 5 and a daughter who will be two very soon. I have been blessed that after all the ocmpications i had with my pregnancies that i have three relatively healthy children. My three year old does receive speech therapy now and my daughter may be diagnosed with asthma soon due to some breathing complications she has had for over a year now.
I could not imagine going through what you have. I wish you the best and a merry christmas.

My daughter is grown now in fact she is a collage student herself. She has a congenital c5 center core spinal cord injury. As I said she is attending collage and I have found all her needs have and are being met well. While growing up as a child she attended main stream classes and I must say.... the schools were wonderful. I do have to say some of the reasons why she got what she needed was because she had me as her advocate if she didn't have mum to back her she would have had many things over looked. A childes best advocate is an educated mum, one who know the state and local laws pertaining to special education.
