Hello All.....and thanks for taking the time to read my message. I am 27 years old and the mother of two children. My son Anthony is 4 years old and has special needs. He currently feeds through a g-tube although he can take in food orally. Needless to say he requires alot of care. Sometimes more care then the average person would be willing to give. I have never thought of ever putting my son in a group home or anything of the sort. As far as I am concerned I will take care of him always. But what about when I'm gone, life isn't guaranteed you know and yeah i am young but WHAT IF!!!!! Having a disabled child there are so many what ifs.....Has anyone ever thought about this or am i crazy????? Please help.....

What will happen to him? Thats your call, you should talk to a family or friend and ask them if some thing was to happen to you would they care for your child. I do know that is one of the many conserns you deal with each day. I guess all you can do is try to make arrangements for him just in case!

Hi Sweetcaramalkiss. I have a special needs daughter who is 15, but will be 16 on the 26th of janurary. I always worry what happens to my daughter if something happens to me. I have something set up where my parents will get her first then my common-in-law husband is next on the list. I have to do it legally. Sarah needs a lot of care too. We will keep sarah as long as we can and are able to. I hate the idea of putting her into a home. I use every resource that is a vailable to me to give her the help. Hang in there.
