Has anyone gone back to work after only 6 weeks? I am a physician and have limited time I can take off and am really worried that I will feel terrible when I go back to work. Would it make any difference to go back at 8 weeks rather than 6?

Other than the fact that you would have 2 more weeks with baby...not really....It is hard either way. I did it with my first at 8 weeks. You just have to be strong... Hang in there....
Good luck !

I was able to stay home with my little guy until he was 3 months and it was still very tough. The last few weeks before I had to go back were very depressing. All I did was cry because I knew I'd miss him so much. Once suggestion you may want to consider is starting back with a few half days. I did this and it made it a bit easier. This is espectially helpful if you are still nursing because it gives you a chance to work out your pumping scheducle.

i only stayed home with my first born for 5 weeks..it was the hardest thing to do...is leave him // i was worried all the time // called home all the time // but eventually you'll have to let go.

i honestly think its harder to leave him, when he's able to talk, and walk...and follow you...its so hard for me every morning...when he holds on to me...and wont let go...and when he waves bye bye to everyone...thinking hes going to get to leave with me...and i have to make him stay...and he cries and cries...its sooo sad....=(
