hulloooo - i love m job - im an education co-ordinator for a theatre company - my problem is that the company is poor. i mean real poor. i dont want to put them in a mad situation of going under cos they have to pay my maternity leave and cant affford to bring on someone else. does the government pay them/?? if i quit, can i get money from the government? i am not a freeloading kinda gal but dont know what to do for the best....any ideas?????????

Wow, that is great that you are so worried about the company. What you could go is call the local social security office and ask alot of questions. Just tell them that you are looking into ALL your options and you would like to know how it all works. I am sure that they will be able to give you all the info that you need. I only say that because all states are different and you will get a different answer from everyone...(I think) That is what I would do!

thank you sooooooooooo much Sara - I'll definitely try the DSS, I'm actually from t UK but your US sites are so fantastic I cant help buT browse! Hope all's good with you...I've only just found out I'm expecting and its m first - hubby got all excited and were both still on cloud 9! I want to tell sooo many people but dh says to wait tilat least 2 months.....wahooo! cheers and take care. sx

you are welcome!!! Anytime... good luck with the baby and enjoy it...They grow up REALLY FAST!!! This will be my third one and my other two are so grown....Sometimes it makes me a little sad....But, also I love to see them grow!!
