We have tried Adderol and Strattera but it brought out more of my child's angry side.Any suggestions on a medication that might work better?

Concerta, Ritalin or Medidate, they are different than the ones you have tried.

My son takes Focalin. Adderol and Strattera did not work for him either.

I have been trying focalin for my son as well. He doesn't want to take it because it makes him mouth dry and he says he feels bad. Does it take a few days to get used to it or can you tell what the side effects will be right away?

Hi Amanda! i know you where asking about medications, but I am going to recommend something else. Fish oil, fish oil, fish oil!!!!!!! I have a daughter who is autistic and hyper. Fish oil helps to calm her down and help with her behaviours. Please give it a try! I also wanted to recommend the book Nourshing Traditions by Sally fallon. It has been a blessing to me. Good luck and God bless!

My son has done really well on Concerta and I had another person tell me that their child did really well on stratera (I'm not sure if that's spelled right). It is supposed to be stimulant free. My son was on Aderal (spelling?) and it didn't seem to work for long before he needed a higher dose.

Amanda, I am so new at this. Our 4yrs adopted daughter has ADHD. We tried Foclin for two days and took her right off. She's only 35 pounds, so we have been giving her liquid Omega 3,6 &9 (Fish oil & we stared her on a natural item called Attend. Here is the link http://www.vaxa.com/636.cfm. I have to say it is not what maybe Ridilin or another stimulant woould do. Besides my wife and I her teacher and alot of our relatives notice a difference. I guess it is based on how bad you feel your child is. It is a difficult choice. And VERY taxing on parents. God Bless

It took my son a while to get over the side effects from Focalin. Now he has none. I don't think it took more than a week.

How is your son doing on the focalin because I just started my son on it almost 2 weeks ago? I don't know what it is but I'm afraid everyday I give it to him.
